Tips to Getting Your Deposit Back When You Move

Moving from one home to another is part of adulthood. You might start with a small apartment in college, move in with a spouse and eventually buy a house. Moving is frustrating enough without worrying about getting your deposit back. Stack the deck in your favor by following these simple guidelines.

Know Your Lease
Yes, it’s wordy, but zero in on the part that tells you specifically what to do when you want to move out. Make sure you follow the instructions completely with regards to notifying your landlord, move-out cleaning Marietta GA and returning your keys.

Be Clear in Your Expectations
Write a clear letter that states that you expect to get your deposit returned in a timely manner. Politely let your landlord know when you’re vacating, your new address and the date by which you expect to receive the deposit. Make a copy of the letter and double-check that your landlord has received it, so he can’t deny its existence.

Repair the Easy Stuff
Anything you can do to make small repairs will keep the landlord from upping the cost and billing it back to you. Patch any picture holes and restore walls back to their original color. Even if you know the landlord is going to repaint everything anyway, he could charge you a fee if you leave a wall red. Replace burned out lightbulbs and clear the dead bugs out of the light fixtures.

Scrub it Down
Complete a thorough clean of the space including carpets, ceiling fans, bathrooms and closets. Make sure everything is out (check all the drawers) and wipe down every surface. Use a dry carpet deodorizer to help eliminate pet odor before you vacuum. Wash the windows. Clean the stove. Wipe out anything spilled in the refrigerator.

If you are leaving anything damaged such as chewed up mini-blinds or a stain in the carpet, take pictures so that your landlord can’t overcharge you. Most landlords are honest, but it’s safest to do your part to leave the apartment as sparkling as you found it.

Turn Kennel Stays Into Doggie Camp

Going on a vacation is exciting for your family, but it can be stressful for your dog. Most dog owners see this stress as soon as their luggage gets packed and set by the door. For people without friends or family for their dog to stay with, boarding it at a kennel is a great option. Dog boarding Tomball TX can be a positive experience with minimal preparation. Over time, your dog will think of these trips as going to camp instead of going to jail.

Preparation Is Key
If this is the first time your dog will be staying at the kennel, then you may want to schedule a trial sleepover. This will help your dog become familiar with the people and the environment. It will also show your dog that when you drop it off, you will return. In addition, ask for the kennel's feeding and sleeping schedule to copy at home the week prior to your trip.

When the big day comes, stay as calm as possible. When you walk your dog into the kennel be quiet and confident. You do not want to get your dog excited before you leave the kennel. If you have kids, let them say goodbye at home or in the car. Most kennels will allow you to pack your dog's food and a favorite toy. The familiar scents will have a comforting effect when you aren't there.

Expect a Readjustment Period
Most dogs do not sleep very well at a kennel and will be tired at home. This is normal. It is also normal for the dog to have some accidents. The routine at a kennel is different than at home, and your dog may have learned some bad habits. Take them outside more often to go to the bathroom and play. Exercise is a great way for a dog to release anxiety.

Finally, keep an eye out for kennel stress. If you notice unusual pacing, shaking or hiding, then contact your vet. You know your dog best, so watch for any unusual behavior.

Holidays with a HALOmask

 Hi All!!

Do you know someone who could use a really good mask for the holidays?  Perhaps someone who is required to wear one to work, or someone with a compromised immune system. If so, I hav a good choice for you.  HALOmask has a mask that has nano filter technology.  It has a filter that can be replaced as needed.  The mask itself is washable, and it has a removable filter.  My daughter is enjoying wearing the new mask that came in.

HALO: The HALOmask captures over 99% of all airborne particulates in both directions down to an incredible 0.1ยต (microns).

The HALOmask is designed, so that it does not press right up against your face.  You feel you can breathe a little easier. The mask has a flexible noseband, that can be adjusted to fit the bridge of your nose properly. There is also a pad designed to apply to the inside of your mask on the noseband area, for comfort. The straps that go over your ears are also adjustable, rather than a one size fits all.

The mask can be hand washed and hung out to dry, just remember to remove the filter first.  Your filter should be replaced every 2-4 weeks, unless you are in constant contact with others, or if you have a lowered immune system.

HALOmask comes in 4 sizes.  There is information on their website that tells you how to properly measure to get the right mask. HALOmask will be on sale for Black Friday, so be sure to visit their website to find out more.

Upfront Cosmetics Bringing Cheer

 Hi Neighbors!!

I really want to share Upfront Cosmetics with you today!! We were able to try several of their Shampoo and Conditioner Bars and we LOVE them.  When my daughter (adult) comes to me and says she is amazed at how they make her hair feel, I know we found a winner.  She was concerned at first that the bars would dry her hair out, but it doesn't.  Her hair feels so soft, smells beautiful and looks great!! She used the Winter Fresh. The aroma is Wintergreen and Cinnamon.

We also have the Arctic, Midnight Harvest, Nordic Sunrise, and Forest Fresh.  All of them have their own unique scent. Each 2.29 oz bar replaces uptown 3 bottles of shampoo. The bars are $13.95, so it really is a reasonable price.

From Upfront Cosmetics: Our shampoo and conditioning bars are 65 grams of nutrient richness without the water weight or the plastic bottle. We use plant-based emollients and proteins to make your hair shiny and soft, and natural essential oils to refresh, awaken, stimulate, and soothe. - No Animal Testing, Paraben Free, Sulfate Free, No Synthetic Fragrances, Vegan

Tips For Storing Jewelry

You can never own too much jewelry until you can't figure out how to store it. These are some helpful tips for keeping all your baubles within reach and damage-free.

Fine Jewelry
These investment pieces require gentle care and storage to keep them looking their best. It is best to avoid high-humidity environments, like a bathroom, to precious metals tarnish-free. Placing delicate jewelry in containers or drawers fitted with velvet liners and separating your pieces will prevent them from touching and scratching each other. Great care is necessary when storing pearls and gemstones such as emeralds because they are soft and porous, making them especially vulnerable to damage.

Costume Jewelry
Costume pieces do not hold up well when worn daily. Instead, they are better suited for occasional use to keep them looking their best. A downside of this type of jewelry is its susceptibility to tarnish, which is preventable by placing it in air-free storage bags or wrapping it with tarnish-free paper. Some of the same methods for storing fine jewelry can also apply when storing fashion jewelry, such as separating pieces to prevent them from touching and scratching.

Every-Day Jewelry
Jewelry that is worn every day does not need elaborate storage. It can remain out on your dressing table or nightstand where it is easily accessible. Of course, some considerations still apply. For example, be sure to position necklaces carefully to prevent their chains from knotting and becoming entangled with earrings and bracelets. Ring dishes not only keep several rings within reach but can also accommodate earrings; however, they are not meant for chains. For in-drawer storage of daily pieces, be sure to use compartment trays with velvet liners that keep each piece visible at a glance.

Proper jewelry storage can ensure all your pieces' longevity and make it easy to find what you want to wear.

Some Items You Need To Complete Your Horse's Tack

There are a lot of pieces to bring together to create a complete set of tack, or riding equipment, for your horse. If you're new to tack-up a horse or even brand new to riding, you'll need a little guidance on what pieces you'll need to complete your set and ride your horse safely. The main item you'll need is a saddle to sit in that comes with stirrups to place your feet into, but there are a few other items you'll need to complete your saddle set-up.

1. Saddle Pad
A hard leather saddle is not the most terribly comfortable thing to have on one's back and so a saddle pad to sit underneath the saddle is added to the horse riding gear. The first thing to consider is whether you're riding in the English style or the Western style; both styles require a saddle pad, but you'll want to be sure you're buying a pad suited for the saddle style you purchase. On top of buying the suitable style, you'll want to find a pad that is recommended for its ability to adsorb shock and take the pressure off the horse's back. Additionally, pads that can help dissipate heat will help keep your horse cool as you work together. Check out shop that sell a variety of supplies for horses for browse selections and fine the right pad for you.

2. Girth
Now that you've got a saddle and pad, you need to purchase a girth to help keep your saddle in place. Both Western and English riding use girths in the same fashion, but you do need one that will fit the particular saddle you're using. Additionally, you'll want to consider a few things before purchasing your girth such as the saddle type, style of riding you'll be doing (eventing, dressage, etc.), your horse's shape and size, and, of course, your budget.

3. Breast Collar & Wither Straps
Breast collars and wither straps are optional pieces to add to your saddle that help your saddle stay secure and in place. Breast collars, fitting around the horse's chest and front legs, keep the saddle from rolling or sliding back, especially when making quick accelerations, stops, or turns. Wither straps are an adjustable leather strap that sits at the front of the saddle to help hold up the breast collar.

4. Bridle
You will of course need a comfortable, well-fitted bridle for your horse as well.  Be sure to check into the different types of bits available.  If you recently purchased the horse, ask the previous owners what type of bitty had been using.

It's necessary to a great ride, and a comfy horse, to have the proper saddle equipment. Taking care when purchasing your items means it will be easy to tack-up and hit the trail.
