One More Hug - By Megan Alexander

Hey neighbors!!

I have to share this adorable book with you, One More Hug by Megan Alexander.  This is a perfect gift for mom's to share with their children.  It is all about a little boy who needs one more hug, one more kiss, one more bit of encouragement from his mom before facing something a little scary or different than the norm.  As he grows he still occasionally needs mom's hug or kiss.  Then one day.... You will have to read the book if you want to know the end, but I will say I had tears in my eyes as I finished the book.

Megan Alexander is a national news correspondent, host, emcee, speaker, producer, and actress.  She can be seen every evening as a correspondent on the top-rated national news magazine television show, Inside Edition.  She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from Westmont College.  Megan splits time between New York City and Nashville, TN.  She and her husband have two young sons.

I am sure moms and children both boys and girls will enjoy this sweet tale of a young boy growing up.  Written by Megan Alexander, it is based on some experiences with her son and his journey through life.  Illustrated by Hiroe Nakata, you will be sure to enjoy the colorful scenes.  One More Hug has a suggested retail price of $17.99 and is recommended for ages 4-8.  You can find One More Hug on Amazon.  Or check your local Barnes and Noble.

It brought to memory the time my oldest daughter, now 34, was invited at 4 years old to visit a friend's pre-school class.  She was so excited to ride the bus and climbed right on.  Until they strapped her in and the bus started to drive off.  I could hear her crying as they left.  So, I had a neighbors drive me to the school.  When I arrived she was at a table playing with some other children.  She looked over her shoulder and casually gave me a wave and went back to playing.  I guess we both grew a little that day.

Anyway, be sure to check out the book One More Hug.  I am sure you will enjoy the tale as much as your child will.

You can find Megan Alexander on her social media pages.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
