Interview With Jessica Sipos | Mistletoe Magic

Mercy: Can you share what you've been up to since we last spoke?

Jessica: I just wrapped a show I can’t share the details about just yet but it’s been a really exciting project to be a part of and I’m looking forward to sharing more when I can!

Mercy: Thus far in your acting career, who has been your favorite character to portray?
Jessica: I think Tash on Dark Matter. I mean... who wouldn’t want to play a space pirate? The fight sequences were some of the most enjoyable scenes I’ve ever gotten to shoot.  Cassandra Savage in Legends of Tomorrow was also a fun one!

Mercy: Can you share a little bit about your upcoming movie Mistletoe Magic?
Jessica: Mistletoe Magic follows my character, Harper, a self proclaimed Scrooge and the black sheep of her green and red Christmas loving family, as she searches for a lost family heirloom. She’s donated the family’s infamous “magic mistletoe” that bestows true love upon all those who meet under it and she may even discover true love of her own as she turns the town upside down looking for it.

Mercy: What was your favorite part of filming Mistletoe Magic? Any fun bts stories you can share?
Jessica: I loved the little kid in me that remembered all the magic of Christmas, especially when I was shooting with Santa. One of my favourite scenes in the movie is when we stop at Luke’s aunt's house and meet her and her new boyfriend. Nancy and Gerry knocked it out of the park with their chemistry that’s meant to make mine and Stephens character’s very awkward. I’m excited for everyone to see it!

Mercy: What is your favorite Christmas song?
Jessica: I love ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ and ‘Baby, it’s cold outside’. Those two songs immediately get me in the Christmas mood to decorate. Oh and ‘I want a hippopotamus for Christmas’

Mercy: Favorite Christmas movie?
Jessica: Elf is definitely a go-to and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a favourite classic.

Mercy: Favorite Christmas tradition/memory
Jessica: Every year a family tradition is to receive a new ornament that sort of encapsulates the year. And as the kids moved out to our own homes we took our box of ornaments with us to have all those memories with us.

Mercy: Favorite Christmas food
Jessica: The classic turkey dinner on Christmas is one of my favourite meals and I make a family traditional cookie only at Christmas.

Mercy: White or Green Christmas?
Jessica: Definitely a snowy Christmas is nostalgic and makes everything slow down! Snowmen, sledding, and hot chocolate bring back some of my most cherished memories.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
