Interview With Tammy Gillis | Moments With Mercy

A little over a year ago, I had the pleasure of getting to interview the amazing talent that is Tammy Gillis. (If you'd like, you can read that interview HERE.)

She is, in my humble opinion, one of the best actresses today. Her resume is extensive with everything from Unleashing Mr. Darcy to the tv series Siren. Fans absolutely love this gracious lady whose talent knows no bounds.

I reached out to her a few weeks ago and she kindly agreed to another interview in anticipation of her role in tomorrow night's Aurora Teagarden movie A Game Of Cat And Mouse.

Without further ado, let's get started!

Mercy:  Can you share what you've been up to since we last chatted?
Tammy: Thanks for the interview!!  I have been busy working and living life.  I have been developing some projects that I am hoping to get into production later this year.  Spending some time with my family back in Manitoba and trying to enjoy the summer.  I’m currently in Montreal working on a project and am loving the city - so many things to see and so much incredible food to eat!

Mercy: What is your favorite movie or tv show that you've ever been a part of?
Tammy: I think every role I’ve played has brought something interesting and different to it, which is what I love - the opportunity to be challenged and to bring new characters to life.  I recently did a role which was very physical, which I loved because it was such a new and exciting experience.

Mercy: What, in your opinion makes a good scene partner?
Tammy: A good scene partner is someone who is open and collaborative and willing to try things in order to move the story forward.

Mercy: What actors/actresses have influenced your own acting?
Tammy: The very first actor/actress to really directly influence my acting was Chad Lowe and Kelly Rutherford.  They were the lead actors on one of the first union shows I worked on and they gave me the advice that if I really wanted to be an actor that I could really do it, it doesn’t have to be a dream.  There are so many incredible actresses and their performances that have inspired me over the years like Carol Burnett, Marilyn Monroe, Meryl Streep and so many more.

Mercy: If you got the chance to choose who would be your dream cast for a movie?
Tammy: Wow, what a tough question.  I love drama and I love comedy so even picking one genre is hard.  But I think it would have been incredible to work with such people like Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Marlon Brando.  Some of the most iconic actors ever would have been an incredible experience.  I would love to work with some of the great comedic actors/actresses like Will Ferrell and Tina Fey.  It’s so hard just to name a few - Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Leonardo Dicaprio, I could go on and on!!

Mercy: What can you tell us about your role in Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Game Of Cat And Mouse?

Tammy:  I can’t say much other than what an absolute pleasure it was to work with Candace Cameron Bure for the first time.  And to be able to work with Mark Jean, who is such a fantastic director, and Niall Matter, who always is a blast, for a second time, was just icing on the cake.

Mercy: Any other upcoming projects you can share about?
Tammy:  I have been busy solving crimes on Siren Season 2.  Our big season two finale is TONIGHT!   As well, I shot Aurora Teagarden Mysteries:  A Game of Cat and Mouse with Candace Cameron Bure, which will premiere on Sunday, August 4th on Hallmark Movie & Mystery and the Hallmark Channel.  I worked on an independent feature film called Torn, which will be released in theatre's later this year.  I had an absolute blast working on the latest season of Van Helsing, which will air in the fall and am currently shooting a recurring lead role on CBC’s The Detectives in Montreal.  I am very grateful for all the new and exciting roles.

Friends, as always thank you for reading.  It was a true honor getting to feature Tammy again.  If you don't already please click through the links below and give her a follow on social media to keep up with her work.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
