Versa Chalk Markers and Magnetic Chalkboard

Hey neighbors!! Versa Chalk has some really great Mother's Day gift ideas.  I love their Rustic Magnetic Kickstand Chalkboard .  I received the chalkboard and their 10 pack of Classic Colors Liquid Chalk Markers .  This is perfect for a countertop in the kitchen or perhaps on a sideboard in the dining room.  You can use it for grocery lists, menus, or even a verse for the day. I did a little Mother's Day doodle on the chalkboard.  It is so easy to write or design with the liquid chalk markers .  The first time you use them, you need to press down a few times to get the liquid chalk to the end of the marker.  After that it is quite simple to draw or write. Versa Chalk has several other boards available, as well as many different color chalk markers.  They have neon, classic, white and metallic.  The board is also magnetic, if you prefer to put magnets on it instead of or with using it as a chalkboard. Mother's Day Gift Giving Ideas

*Contains affiliate links. Hey neighbors!! Hard to believe, but Mother's Day is fast approaching.  I decided I better start looking around.  I know first thought from many is flowers and a card, but what about creating a personalized gift basket your mother would love?  What interests does your mother have? If she enjoys books, there are so many to choose from.  I love Christian suspense novels.  I have the Dee Henderson collection as well as many others.  I also enjoy a good devotional to start my mornings off or to end the day.  I personally don't care for eBooks, but those make a good choice too!!  Perhaps you could include a Kindle for her eBooks. If your mom enjoys gardening you might want to consider a nice gardener's gift basket.  You can create one of your own by purchasing a basket or even a gardening bucket and then adding garden gloves, a hand spade or shovel, a few seed packets or even a gift card to a garden center.  Perhaps she would enjoy one o

Drink Hydrant!

#AD Hey neighbors!! Good to see you out today!  I have a unique product to share with you today.  You all know how hard it is sometimes to drink the amount of water our body needs.  Hydrant will help with this.   Hydrant's unique ingredient blend allows you to absorb water more efficiently, think of it like a hydrant that sends water quickly and efficiently to your cells.   Hydrant presently comes in two flavors.  They have Lime or Grapefruit.  I am thinking I would like to try the Lime as I have never been a big Grapefruit fan, although my husband is.  You simply add a packet to your water, once in the morning and once in the evening.  They say the colder the water, the better it tastes.  You can also dilute it a little if you prefer less flavor.   Hydrant contains   electrolytes and they chose to use sugar rather than artificial sweeteners.  Hydrant is perfect to drink before or right after a workout.   H ydrant creates effective hydration products developed in-hou

Gramma in a Box, Unboxed!!

Hey neighbors!! I am totally sold on Gramma in a Box !  It is a great way for grandparents to spend a little time with grandchildren with activities already planned and prepared for.  Yes, the boxes are also perfect for moms to do with their children, or for teens to just have fun with. Grandparents can plan time together to do the box, or if you are far away, you could Skype or FaceTime to do the Gramma in a Box projects.  So, below is our unboxing video. Each month Terri, the creator of Gramma in a Box, sends a box of subscription treats out.  Many are season or holiday themed.  This month's box was so much fun!  We did videos of each treat being made and then took pictures too!! I hope you enjoy the videos!! Our first project this month was marshmallow flowers!  After completing the flowers, I took scissors and made some tiny cuts in the marshmallows to make them look just a little different. Our second project was adorable Bird's Nests with tiny

Macy's and The North Face!

Hey neighbors!! How many of you like a good buy?  I know I do!  I found out quite a few years ago, it is better to spend a little more on a quality product, rather than paying less and having to keep replacing the item.    So, with that in mind,  Macy's is running a special sale on The North Face. You can: Get 25% Off Select The North Face Styles .  Restrictions may apply.  Valid through 4/22/19. I went to the Macy's website to see what they have available.  I found this North Face Waterproof Rain Jacket for women!!  It is perfect with spring in the air for starting up my walking program.  It comes in several different colors.  Check it out!!  I think I like the teal best. Then I would of course add the Women's Hedgehop Fastpack Waterproof Boots. In the matching teal color of course!! I will be prepared for all the spring showers and look great too!! Be sure to take time to see what other North Face items Macy's has to offer during this special s

Charity and Giving to Others

Hey Neighbors! Many people think about giving to charity around the holidays, but realistically, people need assistance year round, whether it is help with bills, medical expenses, groceries, or whatever other needs come up. Help your family to learn to give year round.  I know too that we have a tendency these days to question if the person in need is genuine and really needs help, because of all the counterfeits out there.  Many of us want to help, but we don't want to be taken advantage of or to be labeled a fool. A person approaches us for money for gas and we tend to question if we should help or not. On way to avoid that, is to give to places that have a proven track record of assisting people.  Obviously some charities have been around for a long time, like: Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, American Red Cross, etc.  There are some more recent ones too, like Matt Redhawk , Miriam's Kitchen, Canine Partners for Life, and others.  Each of these charities assists people

Memorable Things to Include in a Florida Vacation

Florida is a vacation destination with something for everyone. the best times to visit include spring and fall when the weather is cooler and the tourist crowd has thinned down. If you think Florida is all about the beaches, well, you are not entirely wrong, but there is so much more to explore. Off the Beaten Path With so many fun and unique dining opportunities all around you, don’t just settle for fast food or the same few you always choose. For something a little more unexpected, change things up a bit by spending an evening of suspense and intrigue on a  Pinellas County Florida theater train  ride. Colorful costumes, a five-course dinner and an interactive experience may make this one of the highlights of your vacation. Oceans Views and Beach Bumming Of course, sapphire skies and turquoise waters are a huge draw along Florida’s coastline. The white sugar sands on the beaches are ideal for building sand castles and shells of every description are scattered along the sho

Kindle for Travel

#AD Hey neighbors!! I personally love to read on trips.  Since I don't drive, I can read a lot on a day trip.  We are soon taking a trip to the Creation Museum in Kentucky, which will give me plenty of time to read.  Now normally I am a hold a book in my hand type of reader, but on trips it is so easy to damage or lose the book.  A Kindle really helps on a trip, because it carries several books along for you to choose from.  It takes up very little space compared to physical books, and you can read at night.  I am considering picking up a Kindle just for trips. With a Kindle in my hands I will be able to read the entire trip!!  Anyone have any recommendations?  Leave a comment.

Getting Through the Struggle

Hey neighbors!! Not sure what you may be struggling with this week, but no matter what it may be there is always hope.  We have passed through a few trials this last year, and I have found myself reflecting on where we have been, what is presently happening, and where we are heading.  I saw a post the other day that really got me to thinking.  Someone stated that always saying, "I really don't have it as bad as some, so I should not be complaining." is not a good thing.  I really get where they are coming from, no matter what has happened to others, what has happened to you is still important. You need to allow yourself time to adjust and come to terms with what has happened.  I see so many people who have lost a child, gone through a divorce, or been diagnosed with a lifelong illness and they need to be able to focus on themselves some.  Now, I am not saying they do not have to move forward and gain a new interest in life, but there is a time for grief and healing.

Gerrard Larriett Pet Aromatherapy Products

Hi Neighbors!! Today I have some wonderful products to share with you for your pet from  Gerrard Larriett.  We received the Gerrard Larriet Aromatherapy Pet Spa in a Box .  We LOVE it!!  It includes the Unwinding Lotus Deodorizing Soy Candle, Lavender & Chamomile Aromatherapy Shampoo and Conditioner (in one), and the Lavender & Chamomile Aromatherapy Freshening and Shining Spray.   The candle, Unwinding Lotus , smells so very good.  I actually left it on my desk a day or two just to be able to smell it. My daughter used the candle in her room where her Golden Doodle spends a lot of time.  Sometimes,  especially after playing outside she can get a little fragrant and the candle helped neutralize that odor, as well as other odors.  She got in the trash and became a little sick overnight one night and my daughter used the candle to help her room smell better.  The candle is worth purchasing even if you don't have a pet! The Lavender & Chamomile Shampoo and

Hiring a Moving Company

Hiring a Moving Company Have you recently sold your home? If this is the case, you will need to pack up your belongings and move them to your new place. However, this job might be a little too big for you or your family to handle on your own. You will then need to seek out the services of a professional moving company. However, it would be unwise to hire the first moving company that you see listed in your phone book. You need to understand that not all moving companies are the same. Do some research and read reviews. You will need to look into several moving companies to determine which one is the best. Here are a couple ways you can do that. 1. Get in touch with a few people who have hired moving companies in the recent past. One of the best ways to determine the skill and reputation of a moving company is to talk to people who hired them. You should have these people give you the details about how well the moving company performed for them. Were any items damaged duri

Pilgrim's Progress - Make Plans To See It!

Hey neighbors!! I am sure you remember my recent post with the giveaway for the Pilgrim's Progress Digital Book.  Well, now I am sharing a bit about the movie, and we have another giveaway.  More about that in a moment. I watched the new Pilgrim's Progress with my daughters and we really enjoyed it.  I was amazed, because often times when a movie is re-made, it is not as good as the first.  I have to say I was afraid that was going to happen with this one, but soon was totally engrossed in watching the old story unfold.  They stay well within the bounds of the original storyline.  The film is animated, and will hold your child's attention.  There are a couple scenes that might be a bit intense for very young children.  This film will help encourage you and your family to stay the course in their christian walk and can be used to open discussion about different trials we each can and will face in our life.  If you enjoy Pilgrim's Progress I highly recommend this m

Yes, you read that correctly; for the first time ever I'm sharing the audio from an interview.  I had an absolutely wonderful time chatting with Colm about how he got started in music, his journey of how "Connecting The Celts" came about, and we even got the chance to talk about his time with Celtic Thunder.  I won't make you wait any longer so without further ado, my interview with the immensely talented Colm Keegan! Colm, thank you so much for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to be on my blog.  It was an absolute pleasure talking to you! Teach Your Children About Finances Now

Hey neighbors! It is extremely important that we teach our children the value of money and how to properly handle our finances.  As we have become an "I need it now" country, filled with people in debt using credit cards impulsively I see more and more how much we need to train our youth financial responsibility. Can you start too young, probably, but once they start earning an allowance or making money doing odd jobs, they need to start learning.  It is much easier to learn early, then to try and correct bad money habits.  I should know, because we fell into some of these pitfalls when we first got married. So I am going to share a few tips and ideas to use to teach your children about finances. 1. Start early teaching them to save money.  You can open a children's savings account , or if you want something a little simpler, purchase a bank of some sort. 2. Teach them to work for money.  Have certain extra chores that they can do to earn money.  When I sa

Giant Gummy Bears, Made in the USA!

Hey neighbors!! Have you ever seen a GIANT Gummy Bear ?  Well, I have.  This guy is huge!!  It is the world's largest gummy bear and he is made right here in the USA!!  How amazing is that!! We received the Cherry flavored bear .  The minute you opened the package you could smell the cherry flavored bear.  He looks, smells and tastes delicious!!  He is over 1000 times the size of a regular, single Gummy Bear.  He tips the scale at a whopping 5 pounds and is considered to be 51 servings.  He stands 9.5" tall and is 5.5 inches wide. Now, I have a son who is addicted to Gummy Bears, so we ended up giving this to him.  I have a feeling my grandson will be getting some it too!!  I am amazed by all the different options this company offers.  Not only do they have the World's largest Gummy Bear in cherry, but he comes in a variety of colors and flavors.  Then they have worms, skulls, brains, and hearts, all in large sizes.  If you are looking for smaller gummi
