Happy Holidays $10 Amazon GC Giveaway

Hey neighbors!!

We are going to have a fun Holiday Giveaway here.  I have a $10 Amazon GC for the winner of this giveaway.  Entry will be easy, and there will be several ways to enter.

I am sure with the holidays fast approaching that many of you have cooking and baking plans.  Usually about the middle of this month my house starts to smell like a bakery.  The girls love to bake cookies, cinnamon rolls, and different flavored bars and cakes.  We also love to plan our larger meals with family favorites.  In all the hustle and bustle though, it is easy to make a mistake when preparing your recipe.  For instance, someone in my family was making a gingerbread cake and added too much water when she read the recipe wrong.  We called it gingerbread soup, all had a laugh and the kitchen smelled great for hours.  No one ate any.

Another instance that occurred in our kitchen was when someone made Tuna Noodle Casserole minus the tuna.  It stilled tasted great though because of the sauce it is baked in and all the cheddar cheese.

So, here is what the main entry will be for this giveaway.  Tell of an instance where a mistake was made in your kitchen.  No need to share names, just the basic facts.  If there is a funny story to tell be sure to include it.

Hope you all enjoy this giveaway!  See you soon.

I don't even remember who made them, but we had some homemade buns that just did not rise properly. They were so hard they could be used as hockey pucks!

I burnt the big bird for not understanding my oven.
I was pregnant and craving a nice ham for Thanksgiving. My hubby goes out, buys a ham and cooks it for me. I thought when I cut into it, that it felt a little tough. Once I tasted it, I knew, he'd bought a cured salt ham. Like the country ham you put on biscuits. It was inedible. I think we gave it to the dog. :-) -Audra O'Hara

I remember once I was baking cookies and forgot to set a timer. All the sudden my oven started smoking and the fire alarm went off. The cookies looked like coal!

I cannot remember what I was making, but I measured out the wrong amounts for sugar and salt and got them mixed up, which resulted in a very sweet dish.

My mom said that once when she was making peanut butter pie she put in 1 1/2 cups of Salt instead of Sugar. She said it looked like peanut butter pie, but it did not taste like it! 😂😂😂

Oh I remember trying to make homemade mashed potatoes my first year being married. I didnt want lumps...so kept mashing and mashing! Needless to say...I mashed way too much...and oh they were horrible! Not even edible! Thank goodness I did have the packaged ones in the cupboard...so quickly made those!

I put a rather expensive roast in the crockpot and forgot to turn it on. Hours later it had to be thrown away.

My mom left the seran wrap on a casserole and cooked it that way. We could not figure out what was wrong with the cheese (it was the wrap).
