Great Smoky Mountains National Park #TravelTuesday

Today's travel feature is one of my absolute favorite places I have ever been to. (Warning: This post will be comprised mostly of pictures. Words simply can not describe the astounding beauty of this place!) It's also an attraction that is absolutely free because let's be honest-sometimes you just don't have the cash to put out for a theme park admission ticket when you want to have some fun with your family! The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the only national park that does not have an admission fee. So for simply the price of whatever fuel you need, maybe some snacks, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see! We have visited GSMNP several times, but this past September we were able to spend a little more time than normal. We actually went up early one morning to watch the sunrise from the mountains. That is a sight we will not soon forget!

Of course, photo opportunities abound for amateur and professional photographers alike. M is quite the photographer and has a super-camera, but anyone with a phone will be able to capture amazing pictures in this park. (All the pictures in this post were taken on my iPhone 5).

We were even able to take an hour and do a little bit of hiking one morning, although not as long as we would have liked. Each year I promise myself that we're going to go hiking in the mountains, and although much shorter than I wanted, at least we were able to do a little bit this past September! I love being in the fresh air, enjoying all the sights, and getting some exercise in to boot. Whether you consider yourself an outdoorsy person or not, you will love the Great Smoky Mountains National Park!

What a great item for Get Out Get Active! The Polar FA20 counts your daily physical activity. First you need to set the basic information. The date, units (metric or imperial), your weight, height, birth date, and male or female. Place the FA20 on your wrist to measure your physical activity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This watch monitors your activity and gives you feedback about how you are doing. Everyone should be physically active at least 30 minutes each day, and the FA20 helps you achieve this. Throughout your day you can check and see if you are having a Lazy Day (active less than 30 minutes), Easy Day (active 30 to 60 minutes), Active Day (active 60 to 75 minutes) or an Intensive Day (active more than 75 minutes).
