Making More Time for Your Family

It can be difficult to find time to spend with the family these days. Between working and household chores, it might seem like there’s not enough hours in the day to spend quality time with the kids. But it doesn’t have to be that way, there are plenty of things you can to do make the most of your time and free up more time to spend with your family. Follow these simple steps to get the boring stuff out of the way quickly and spend more time with the ones you love.

Delegate

This doesn’t mean getting somebody else to do all of your chores. Unfortunately, you’re still going to have to put some work in, but you don’t need to take on everything by yourself. Go over your to-do list and see what items on there you could ask somebody else to do for you. Having somebody help you out with house cleaning or grocery shopping can free up a good chunk of time that can be spent with the family.

You should also see what items on your list you can get rid of entirely. Look through each item and ask yourself whether these tasks are entirely necessary. If they aren’t, get rid of them.

Involve the Kids

If you are struggling to make time, then involve the kids in some of your chores. It’s not the most exciting way of spending time with them but it’s better than nothing. There are a few ways that you can make the chores fun so the kids will be having a good time and you can get everything done in half the time.

Give them simple tasks to do, like matching laundry, which can be made into a fun game for them. You can also use reward charts and stickers to encourage them to do more chores with you. Always make sure that you are involving everybody and nobody feels like they are either being left out, or that they have to do more than their siblings do.

Reduce Time Wasters

There are plenty of things that we do that waste time. Most of these are small things that only take a few minutes out of our day but this time adds up and getting rid of these time wasters can free up more quality time for the family. Silly things like lost keys can waste a lot of time over the months. Get yourself organized so you don’t waste time looking for things. You should also consider the things that you could do after the kids have gone to bed. Checking emails is a good example. Don’t waste the time you could spend with them, when you can just wait until they have gone to bed before you do these things. But you should also make sure that you still have quality time with your spouse once the kids are asleep.

Productivity at Work

A lot of time can be wasted doing things that you should have been doing at the office. Make the most of your working day so once you get home, you can dedicate all of your time to the family.

You’d be surprised at how much extra family time you’ll get just from following these simple steps.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere.
