Let’s face it, breakfast often doesn’t feel like the best meal of the day. We’ve all heard a million times over that it’s the most important meal, that we need to make sure we eat before we go off to school and work, but when it comes down to it, for some of us it’s all that we can do to slosh some cereal in a bowl and hope for the best. Brunch, however, is a different story. The number one meal for anyone who likes to sit outside in the sun while drinking coffee or tea and eating pancakes (so that’s all of us), it makes breakfast food cool and fun. Here are some tips on how to make your breakfast a little more stylish.
Switch Up The Traditional Food

A lot of us go for either toast or cereal for breakfast, but it’s time to change that a little. There’s no point in steering away from your old favourites entirely but why not make them a little more interesting? If you love peanut butter on your toast then you can add a layer of sliced banana as well for extra potassium and energy, and if you want to go full hipster then you can always go for smashed avocado - simply mash it up with a little citrus juice, salt and chilli and you’re good to go. If you’re a cereal fan then why not add some fresh berries to the top of your oatmeal or granola? They’ll brighten it up and give you a few extra vitamins to get you through the morning.
Update Your Beverages

If you’re tired of that lukewarm swill that you call caffeine it’s time to go for some gourmet coffee instead. And what is gourmet coffee, I hear you ask? Simply put, it’s coffee that’s of a higher quality so not only will it taste a lot more palatable but it’ll also make you appreciate the depth and richness of the flavour of the coffee you’re drinking, instead of reducing it to something that’s intended to help you stay awake through the first meeting of the day. If you want something a little more fruity then why not make your own juice or smoothie? All you need is a blender or juicer along with a selection of your favourite fruits. If you want to treat yourself, go for traditional banana and strawberry, but if you want to push the boat out you could always go for a green juice with green apple and kale in it.
Have A Friday Special

Finally, it’s time to start acknowledging special days, whatever that entails in your family, whether that’s pancakes to make Monday better, bacon because you want to celebrate Friday, or croissants and pastries to enjoy during a long, leisurely brunch on a Sunday morning along with the weekend newspapers. Remember that food shouldn’t just be about fuelling your body to get through the next few hours - it should be something that should be cherished and enjoyed, particularly if you’re eating with your family.
