Beric the Briton Review

Beric The Briton Heirloom Audio Productions Review

Hey neighbors!

This review is compliments of Heirloom Audio Productions!  You may remember a couple of the reviews we have been privileged to do in the past, but this is their newest, Beric the Briton.  My daughters have enjoyed all the previous audio adventures, and this one is no different.

Beric the Briton is two enthralling hours of audio adventure.  These adventures always hold the attention of anyone who is listening.  This is based on a story from G. A. Henty.  I like that each of these stories tell a portion of history that children and adults alike will enjoy learning from.

The story of Beric the Briton teaches a lesson as well as telling history. The message is about enduring and standing firm during trials and tribulations.  What an appropriate message for today.  As times get harder for christians we need to be teaching our children about these issues, and this is one great way to teach them about christians in the past who have taken a stand no matter the cost.  This audio drama is perfect for an entire family to listen to, and then spend discussion time afterwards.

When you purchase Beric the Briton, you will also receive a few bonuses.  One is of course the eStudy guide, which is 50 pages of questions and discussion starters.  Another beautiful inclusion is a printable quote that can be framed and put on display in your home.  Access is also given to an MP3 download of the soundtrack from Beric the Briton.

Use Beric the Briton for homeschooling, family time or on trips.  My daughters like to listen to them as going to sleep, but I do have to limit how much they can listen to, or they will stay awake longer to hear what happens. Beric the Briton comes with a downloadable study guide, which can be used in the homeschool or perhaps at family devotions.  I highly recommend these audio dramas and if you have not heard any of the other adventures be sure to check them out too.  You will find;
Under Drakes Flag
In Freedom's Cause
With Lee in Virginia
The Dragon and the Raven

This is not a cheaply done program and is well worth the price.  You might even recognize some of the actors and actresses in Beric the Briton.  Brian Blessed, Brian Cox, Tom Baker, Honeysuckle Weeks, Cathy Sara and John Rhys-Davies are the six stars behind this production.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back. Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child
