We recently had the opportunity to review one of the audio drama sets of "The Brinkman Adventures Season 3" on CDs. You will be able to find Season 1 and 2, the previous sets, on the Brinkman Adventures website. This is a new series we had never heard of before that we thought would be really fun to try out. We love listening to audio books and stories as we travel, and of course some of the family likes to listen to them as they go to bed. The only problem with doing this is, I find they lay awake until the CD ends, because they don't want to miss anything.
You can jump right in with Season 3 without hearing the previous seasons, or if you want to begin at the start, you are able to purchase the other seasons too. We had no trouble jumping in here, because they are complete, individual stories and adventures. The Brinkman Adventures will help teach your child/children Bible truths as they listen to tales of missionaries and other Christians as they live their lives serving the Lord. Your child will have the opportunity to travel the world through listening to The Brinkman Adventures and where their adventures take them..
My daughters turned the first CD on one evening before going to bed. The next morning they said they stayed awake until the CD ended because it was so interesting. The first episode they heard was about a missionary, whose audio recording one of the Brinkman girls was transcribing. As she tells a sibling about what she is doing you get carried away into the story. The next episode builds off of this with the missionary coming to a youth meeting they have. Although the names have been changed the characters are actually played by the creators own family members and other members from his church. Many of the events that occur with the family actually happened, but might be a little bit dramatized for the story.
The Brinkman Adventures are great for trips, family nights, bedtime (Limited of course. LOL!), or quiet time with headphones. I used to have my children lay down and rest in the afternoons (too old for naps) and allow them to listen to a CD. This gave me some time for grading papers or to finish a few chores. I recommend the Brinkman Adventures for homeschoolers or anyone with children. These would make a great gift too!
On their website they have an episode you can listen to before purchasing, so you can get an idea of what the adventures are like. They also have a link to read the stories behind the stories. You can also find some extra activities on the website for your family's enjoyment. They have some printable you can print off. There are also some behind the scenes videos along with a few other video links you might find interesting.
