2015 Holiday Gift Guide Event : Janiebee Review + Giveaway!

Hello all!

Today I have another item to add to our growing Holiday Gift Guide Event.  This is one of my favorites!  For those of you that haven't seen them before, Janiebee makes quilted nap mats for children.  It gets even better though.... she makes them in a wide variety of designs (you're sure to find one for your child) and you can even have them personalized with a name!

*You can put a full name, but I covered the rest of Colbin's name for the photos.

Some dear friends of ours have an adorable little boy named Colbin.  Colbin loves cars, and the last time we met up with our friends I brought him a few toy cars I had bought for him, so we are now best buds.  :)  When the chance came up to review a nap mat I immediately thought of Colbin (they travel a lot, and are often at venues where a nap mat would be quite useful), and when I went in and looked at the designs available, I knew which one we would choose... the Speed Racer!

This is a fun pattern that any young boy would love.  It is perfectly described as "Sleek coupes in navy, red, light blue and white play well with stripes, black and white race flag fabric, red plaid. All topped with dimple dot red blanket and pillowcase."  The fabrics all go together so well to create a sporty feel.  The dimple dot blanket and pillowcase are very soft (no more scratchy blankets!), and the blanket is more than adequately large enough.  I love that the blanket and pillowcase are attached to the mat -- no more losing them or having them get left somewhere.  There are handy little ties (plaid fabric) to keep your nap quilt rolled up neatly.  The pillowcase has velcro, so that you can remove and wash the pillow, or swap it out for one of your own.  The mat itself has TWO inches of a thick quilter's batting inside it, and believe me, it's comfortable!

This is definitely something that would make a great Christmas gift this year.  The Speed Racer is going to be a big hit with Colbin as well as his mama!  You can view the variety of patterns available on the Janiebee website.  You can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date on their latest news and products.

Janiebee is giving 1 of our Neighbors a chance to win any of the

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was.
