Koru Naturals Review

Hey Neighbors!

I was recently allowed to review two different products from Koru Naturals.  The first was Koru Naturals' Pure Emu Oil, the second was the Manuka Oil and Manuka Honey Shampoo and Conditioner.  I was really excited to have the opportunity to try some of their products.

Koru Naturals is based in New Zealand.  They feel that New Zealand products offer a better value and emphasize natural substances more than those found in America.  Their symbol, the Koru, comes from a Maori name given to the newborn fern frond.

Before
I want to start with the Emu Oil.  My son has extremely dry, chapped hands.  During the winter months his hands are often so badly chapped that they crack and bleed.  He has tried several creams and lotions.  He seemed a bit skeptical when I mentioned the Emu Oil, but he was willing to try it.  Both of us noticed a marked improvement in his hands after using the Emu Oil for several days in a row.  His hands were not as red, and they were not cracked open and bleeding.  He even mentioned how soft they felt, compared to how rough and dry they used to be.  He keeps the Emu Oil in their bathroom cabinet and uses it each morning and often other times throughout the day.  It does not take much oil to spread on both hands.  A 2 oz. bottle is $9.85.  It should last awhile as it only takes a little drop or two to work in.

There is a big difference between the before above and this one.  I know he has a small cut, but that was from basketball, not dry, cracking skin.

Manuka Oil and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner is next.  I always have to remind myself that natural shampoo and soaps do not lather the same way others do.  I really like the fragrance of the Manuka Oil and Manuka Honey Shampoo and Conditioner.  I only used this once, because my original thought was this would be perfect for my 14 year old.  She has very fine, flyaway hair, and her bangs have a tendency to get slightly oily is she does not keep them off her forehead.  The Manuka Oil and Manuka Honey Shampoo and Conditioner seemed to help.  She likes the fragrance too, which really encourages her to use it!  She has also learned to condition the ends more than her bangs and to occasionally skip using conditioner on her bangs.  I especially like that this is a natural shampoo and conditioner for her to use.  My older daughters use varying products, but for her I appreciate being able to use something not full of chemicals.  The ingredients include New Zealand Manuka Oil, Manuka Honey, Lavender, Chamomile, Rosehip Oil and the strongest ingredient you can smell, Peppermint.  You can purchase the set for $14.95.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
