Even Kids Enjoy Veggies With Garden Lites! #FoodieFriday

Wow, I am a new but wholehearted fan of this company! Garden Lites is a "Delicious Vegetable Company" that offers products with a veggie "base". Muffins, souffles, bakes and more, all of them with a healthy "dose" of vegetables. We received a package with some of their products to try out: Cheddar Broccoli Bake, Chocolate Muffins, Blueberry Oat Muffins, Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins, and Carrot Berry Muffins.

The muffins were our first "test run", specifically the blueberry oat. I was surprised to find that you can't taste the veggie ingredients; it honestly tastes like a 'normal' blueberry oat muffin. Look at the ingredients though, and you'll discover that the very first ingredient is zucchini! It's the same with all the flavors; zucchini is the base for these delicious, and deliciously healthy, muffins! That means there's no guilt over eating one for breakfast, or pairing with a glass of cold milk for a late afternoon snack. I would honestly have a hard time choosing a favorite out of the muffins; probably either carrot berry or banana chocolate chip. The carrot berry have a wonderful spice-cake-like flavor that is just perfect.

Decisions, decisions!
Muffins aren't the only way to enjoy your veggies though; Garden Lites has a number of vegetable souffles and bakes as well. The cheddar broccoli bake was destined to be a hit from the get-go. I love broccoli, cheese and brown rice-whether together or individually-so combining them in a healthy, easy-heat bake is great! It's perfect for a side with your dinner, the main dish for dinner, or just for a healthy snack.

This was my first experience with Garden Lites, and I was pleased to find out that they are available at our local grocery stores. Now that I'm hooked on their muffins, I need to be able to restock! And I can try some of their other products as well. :) You can see if Garden Lites products are available near you by using the "Where To Buy" tab on their website.

Are Big Dogs A Bigger Responsibility?

Image Source Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. When opting to own a bigger breed, there are clearly going to be some differences in owning a Chihuahua. However, how big are these differences? Is the responsibility far greater with a humungous hound? Or are there some bonuses to having a big bow-wow-ing beast? Diet Big dogs do require a different diet then small dogs, not just in terms of portion size but nutrients too. They often need a greater amount of protein, especially as a pup when they are growing. This higher protein food costs more, and given that you’ll be serving up higher portions, you’ll go through a lot more dog food with a big breed than you would with a small breed. There are also other factors to consider. Big dogs are often more likely to contract allergies to certain foods. This can sometimes mean buying hypoallergenic dog food , which is unsurprisingly more expensive. It’s also recommended using a raised dog bowl once a big dog reaches adulthood.
