Solvit Decorative Pet Steps

Hi Neighbors!

We have a really nice product up for review.  I received the Pet Steps from Solvit.  The steps are designed to help a smaller pet or a pet who has trouble jumping up be able to get up on couches, chairs, or beds.  We have Shelties, a couple of them can leap right up, but this is perfect for our smaller Pansy and of course the others did not mind using them after they figured them out.

We put the pet steps in the girl's room.  The dogs love to be in there any time the girls are.  The first few tries we had to bribe them a little at first with treats.  Pansy quickly caught on and started using the steps any time M called her.  Grace and Glory were a little more hesitant at first until they realized Pansy was receiving treats for climbing the steps.  M was quickly surrounded by all three of them.

The pet steps come un-assembled.  It was reasonably easy to put together, although I did have a problem getting some of the steps to actually bond in place.  I really like that each step is covered with a carpet.  This gives the dogs a better traction as they go up and down the steps.  There are small protective pads on the bottom of the steps to help protect your floors and to keep them from slipping.

Solvit has many products designed to assist and protect your pet.  They have several steps, ramps, harnesses and travel products.  Cat products are also available on the Solvit website.  Be sure to find Solvit on Facebook - HERE and on Twitter - HERE.

Solvit will be sending one neighbor their Decorative Steps.    Let's get to sharing this giveaway!

Disclosure: I received no monetary compensation for this post.  I did receive product for review purposes.  All quotes in red are taken from the sponsor's email or website.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Are Big Dogs A Bigger Responsibility?

Image Source Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. When opting to own a bigger breed, there are clearly going to be some differences in owning a Chihuahua. However, how big are these differences? Is the responsibility far greater with a humungous hound? Or are there some bonuses to having a big bow-wow-ing beast? Diet Big dogs do require a different diet then small dogs, not just in terms of portion size but nutrients too. They often need a greater amount of protein, especially as a pup when they are growing. This higher protein food costs more, and given that you’ll be serving up higher portions, you’ll go through a lot more dog food with a big breed than you would with a small breed. There are also other factors to consider. Big dogs are often more likely to contract allergies to certain foods. This can sometimes mean buying hypoallergenic dog food , which is unsurprisingly more expensive. It’s also recommended using a raised dog bowl once a big dog reaches adulthood.
