Protect Your Dog with IllumiDog Collars

Hi Neighbors!

Here is a super, great product to help you keep your dog save.  It is a reflective collar from IllumiDog.  Do you take evening walks?  Has your dog ever run off at night?  If your dog is wearing a Reflective Nika Collar from IllumiDog it will be much easier for others to see your dog and of course for you to see your dog at night.

See how the flash reflects off the collar.

We have one dog who loves to run.  We have a fenced in backyard, but when it is time to come in at night, she decides she is not ready to come in.  She disappears out in the yard and is hard to find.  She is black, so she is difficult to see in the dark.  Now thanks to her new Nika collar she is much easier to find and here is why.  The Nika collar has exceptionally bright Nikkalite High Intensity Type III reflective tape.

Your question probably is, "What is Nikkalite High Intensity Type III tape?"  Here is the answer, directly from IllumiDog:

This is the same type material found on brighter road signs, road barrels, traffic cones and barricades. This flexible High Intensity Type III tape is 4 times brighter than standard engineer grade tape and exceeds all federal and state requirements for type 3 tape. Glass beads are encapsulated in a honey comb design thus creating a much brighter retro reflective tape.

You know how road signs light up when your headlights hit them, the same thing will happen when light reflects off your dog's collar.  Taking a walk at night will be much safer if your furry friend is wearing a Nika collar from IllumiDog.  If your dog likes to play tag at night like our Glory, you will have an easier time locating him/her.

You can purchase a Nika Collar from the IllumiDog website for $18.95.  They also have other reflective gear.  A second collar and two different leashes in several color choices.  When you visit their site be sure to look at the other products they have available.

IllumiDog is being kind enough to give one reader a Nika collar for their dog.  Enter this giveaway and then share this giveaway with others.  Oh, and be sure to follow IllumiDog on their social media pages.

We live on a dark side road and cars will fly down it at all times - even at night. I'd feel better knowing that the pups would have something reflective on if someone didn't see them.

I would like one of these collars as the SOLAS Prismatic is many times brighter than other standard reflective tapes, and is the brightest of all prismatic tapes. My dogs are black so would be able to see them better.

I've love to have one of these collars for each of my Treeing Walker Coonhounds. We live in a subdivision with limited street lights, so it can be very dark when we go for nighttime walks and I'd just feel safer (especially for my dogs) if they had reflective collars. Despite the relatively small size of our subdivision we get a lot of cars coming and going and every house has a driveway, so cars often come across the sidewalk with no warning and can't see us in the dark.

I would like to have an Illumidog collar because I think it would really make my dog more visible at night and therefore a lot safer. Thank you.

I love that the reflective material on these collars is more intense than most and that the collars are made in the USA! mary987 (at) hotmail (dot) com

We live in an area where there are no sidewalks and you have to walk the dogs on the road. Being more visible with the Illumidog collar would help to keep us safe.

It would be great to see her in the dark when she is in the backyard at night.

We take the dog for a walk at night and cross at least one big intersection. I'd love for Griffin to be more visible.

My dogs like to hid in corners of the yard where I can't see them. I think this would be great so I can see them better.
It makes it so much easier to see them when it is dark out

Having a collar that reflects would make it much easier to locate our dog when he's out in the woods at night.

These collars look amazing, I would love to have one for my dog Phoenix she is a husky and has moments when she decides to take off on her own and the collar would at least let people spot her easier (we live out where there is little if any lights)or at least until I can catch up with her ;-) Thank you.

My dog likes to go for a short run before bed each night. I would feel better if she had a collar like this. She is also white and hard to spot in the snow during winter.

My Elle Mae is a Mini Pin. She is has all dark colors, black and brown, and is so little. I would just love this for her so that way people in cars could see her, and even people just walking will see her

I walk at night with my Kyla and this illuminated color would help for driver's to see us as we are walking on the side of the road. This would be perfect.

I would love to have this since we live close to a busy road. We walk our dog on a leash but accidents do happen and she has been known to escape out the door when company comes over. This would be good incase she got out at night or even when were walking in the evenings.

I could use this for my big black lab Bella when she likes to play at night

I love this collar. I have a black Great Dane and you cannot see him when it gets dark outside. Having this collar would be helpful and ease my mind.

Our dog is pitch black. At night you can't see her at all. The reflection collar would be fantastic for her.

I would want one because it would make my dog visible at night.
I like to go for walks with my girl after work. It gets dark so early, especially in the winter. This would definitely help us keep safe.

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
