Snapverse Review and Giveaway!

Hey neighbors!

I just found this really exciting app.  It is called Snapverse.  You get to add a video clip along with music and then share it with others.  The licensed music clips are 20 seconds long and you just add your video to go with it.  We did a clip with Joy to the World. We just focused our iPad camera on Luke 2:8-12.  We also did the 12th Day of Christmas.   It is 12 fiddlers fiddling, so my daughter fiddled for me.  No, she didn't actually play, she animatedly faked it.

The really neat thing is, you can share these with others.  Create a holiday clip and then send it to friends and family.  You can use Facebook, Twitter, texting or email to share your video.  And of course people can comment or even share a clip back with you!

I do want to say, that although 20 seconds doesn't sound very long, it is longer than you think!  We were a little surprised!

Now, Snapverse is doing a giveaway of sorts, but it is not like most giveaways.  This one is a little more involved.  There is more that you have to do, but a $50 just might be worth it.  Yes, that is what the winner will receive, along with being included in the final contest for a grand prize - a $500 Visa Gift Card.

Here is what you need to do:
•    Download the app (if you don’t have it already)
•    Film an original, holiday-themed Snapverse video,  including the following elements:
o    A “holiday” musical selection from our fully licensed music catalogue

    Deck the Halls
    Silent Night*
    12 Days of Christmas*

    The First Noel
    O’ Christmas Tree
    *Available now –  full list available shortly
o    At least one element of holiday cheer
•    Share the newly created video with their Facebook friends or Twitter followers using the Hashtag #SnapGreeting
o    Be sure you also share your post with me by tagging, tweeting and /or sending me the link. (How else will I know where to find your Snap?)
•    “Like” the Snapverse page on Facebook: or follow us on Twitter: (optional)

For full guidelines, you may visit:

The videos can be of anything. Use Snapverse’s latest Selfieoke feature to send a personalized video carol, show us your favorite holiday dish, or even make a last-minute plea for why you deserve a special gift. We’re looking for anything that captures the spirit of the season.

So, get going neighbors!  Download the app and then create a great holiday Snap.  Then be sure to follow the directions so I can go in and find your Snap.  The most creative Snap will win the $50 gift card.  If I can not find your Snap, you can't win!  Please leave a link to your Snap in the comments.  This giveaway ends the 21st of December.

I can't wait to see my neighbor's Snaps!  And I think we will be going back and creating some more!

Are Big Dogs A Bigger Responsibility?

Image Source Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. When opting to own a bigger breed, there are clearly going to be some differences in owning a Chihuahua. However, how big are these differences? Is the responsibility far greater with a humungous hound? Or are there some bonuses to having a big bow-wow-ing beast? Diet Big dogs do require a different diet then small dogs, not just in terms of portion size but nutrients too. They often need a greater amount of protein, especially as a pup when they are growing. This higher protein food costs more, and given that you’ll be serving up higher portions, you’ll go through a lot more dog food with a big breed than you would with a small breed. There are also other factors to consider. Big dogs are often more likely to contract allergies to certain foods. This can sometimes mean buying hypoallergenic dog food , which is unsurprisingly more expensive. It’s also recommended using a raised dog bowl once a big dog reaches adulthood.
