Back to School with GeoPalz! Review/Giveaway

Hello Neighbors!

How is everyone doing today?  We are doing great!  Today I want to share a product our family just recently found... GeoPalz!  If you have never heard of GeoPalz, let me tell you about them.  GeoPalz is a children's pedometer where they have to walk to get free prizes, awards, or game time!

We received the GeoPalz Rose (above).  After it arrived, we went online and set it up for M.  The registration is very easy and kid friendly (and yes, the parents do need to verify the account via email, before the child can sign in).

The next day, M. started using her GeoPalz.  It took her a couple of days to remember to put it on her hip or shoe each morning, but now she is wearing it regularly.  She is already planning whether she wants to use some of her points to get a prize right away, or save up her points for something bigger!

Here is a little bit about GeoPalz... "What are GeoPalz?  GeoPalz are pedometers using 3D Tri-Axis Accelerometers, designed for the shoe or hip, that gauge MVPA (Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity) for tracking a child's daily activity. Each device features a unique design and kids earn points based on the overall steps/activity they have each day, and can redeem those points for prizes or time in the online arcade.  Each GeoPalz pedometer comes with its own unique code that the children use for their first time registration. This process is very simple and only has three screens for them to navigate through. GeoPalz is the first activity tracker and online game that records your child’s physical activity by tracking steps throughout the day and encourages them to be active by tracking their steps online to win prizes, awards and online game time. GeoPalz are intended for children primarily ages 5-12. Check all of the cool designs below. "

One of our favorite things about the GeoPalz is that after you have been signed into the website for five minutes, a little notification box pulls up that says... "HELLO M.  You have been on the site for 5 minutes now. Why not run around, grab your jump rope, and come back when you have taken some more steps?".  So if your child gets distracted and isn't watching the time/etc., they will get a little reminder to go run around and play some more.

Today many children spend time sitting in school or at the computer, or in front of a TV for hours.  GeoPalz will encourage your child to get up and get active. Especially after several hours doing school our children need to have some physical activity and GeoPalz will help.   What do you do in your family to encourage physical activity?  Be sure to visit the GeoPalz website to learn more.

GeoPalz has agreed to send 1 GeoPalz to one of my Neighbors!

Polar FA20 Activity Watch Review and Giveaway

Hi Neighbors, Well, I am out of the hospital, but I am not allowed to be very active yet, so I asked my daughter to test out this new item. It is an Activity Watch. What a great item for Get Out Get Active! The Polar FA20 counts your daily physical activity. First you need to set the basic information. The date, units (metric or imperial), your weight, height, birth date, and male or female. Place the FA20 on your wrist to measure your physical activity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This watch monitors your activity and gives you feedback about how you are doing. Everyone should be physically active at least 30 minutes each day, and the FA20 helps you achieve this. Throughout your day you can check and see if you are having a Lazy Day (active less than 30 minutes), Easy Day (active 30 to 60 minutes), Active Day (active 60 to 75 minutes) or an Intensive Day (active more than 75 minutes). You can also record your training sessions to learn more about how your body respon
