Super Duper Publications Presents-Topic Talk

Hi neighbors!

Here is a really fun game we are reviewing.  It is Topic Talk from Super Duper Publications!  Perfect for the classroom or family game nights.  Do you want to encourage more discussions in the family?  Here is a good way to get started!  Topic Talk is a conversation starter, with the fun of a game!

Included in your Topic Talk tin:
75 Topic Cards
70 Talk Cards
30 Question Cards
20 Double Talk Cards
10 Wild Cards
1 Five Minute Timer
Rules and Instructions

Topic Cards include descriptive and imaginative topics.  These cards are used to start the game and to change topics as the game continues.

Conversation Cards:
Question Cards-A player may use this card to ask a question about the topic being discussed.  This card also causes the play to change directions.

Talk Cards-A player must make a comment about the specific topic on the Topic Card or to answer a question.

Double Talk Cards-To play this card a player must make two statements regarding the topic being discussed or answer a question that was asked and then make one comment.  Hence double talk!

Wild Cards-These cards made be played as either a Question, Talk or Double Talk during the game.

Separate your Topic Cards from the Conversation Cards (Talk, Question, Double Talk and Wild).  This is easy to do as they are color coded.  Shuffle the Topic Cards and place them face down in the center of the table.  Next shuffle your Conversation Cards.  Yes, you want them mixed up!  Deal each player seven cards and place the rest of the cards face down in the center of the table.

Game begins with the first player turning over the top Topic Card.  The player then checks their cards to see if they have a Talk, Double Talk, or Wild Card.  If they do, they make a couple of comments about the Topic to begin the conversation.  If they do not have one of these cards, they must draw from the Conversation Card pile until they get one.  Play then proceeds to the next player, who lays down a Conversation Card and either, makes a comment (Talk), asks a question (Question), or makes two comments (Double Talk).  If a player asks a question, play changes direction and the person before them must answer the question using a Talk, Double Talk or Wild Card.

The goal is to get rid of all your cards first.  Once a player has accomplished this, new Conversation Cards are dealt out and the first player turns over the next Topic Card for play to commence.  The Timer that is included can be used to set a limit for time a Topic is discussed before a new Topic begins.

This game will help your child/children, and possibly you to improve their/your conversational skills.  Topic Talk is recommended for grades 2 and up or ages 7 and up.  You can purchase Topic Talk from Super Duper Publications for $32.95.

Some of the Topic Cards include:
Talk about your best friend.
Talk about the weather.
Talk about an animal you would like to be.
Talk about something you would like to explore.

I am sure you can see how much fun you could have playing this game.  I personally think it is GREAT for homeschoolers!  The game is also perfect when you feel like your family has been running in different directions all week long!  I am also thinking this would be a fun game for a child's party as an ice breaker and a chance to get to know each other better.

Now, here is some fun we are going to have with this giveaway!  The mandatory entry will be to leave a comment (Talk) or two (Double Talk) on one of two Topic Cards-Talk about a trip you once took somewhere OR Talk about what you like to do when it rains.  The winner will be allowed to choose one of the below games from Super Duper Publications:
1.All About You, All About Me fun Deck
2. Topic Talk
3. MagneTalk Early Classifying
4. Lids and Lizards Magnetic Photo Vocabulary Game

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
