Beach Bike Rental

Hi neighbors!

How many of you have ever rented a cruiser and taken a ride along the beach?  We took a trip to St. Augustine Florida and took our own bikes, but I think I would LOVE to visit some other beaches too!  Maybe check out the Bike Rental Manhattan Beach!  I am not sure where I would like to try next, but we sure had a great time that week.

We stayed in the campground right on the beach.  Of course there were sand dunes between us and the beach, but they had roadway around to the boardwalk that you could then head out to the beach.  It was really nice to get up bright and early in the morning and bike down to the beach.  Often times we would park the bikes and wander the shoreline before moving on to another section.  We brought small bags with us to collect our finds.  We have even mounted some of the sand dollars, star fish and sea horses in displays.

Of course I think one of the highlights was one morning just as we reached the boardwalk someone spotted a pod of whales.  A gentleman there was kind enough to lend us his binoculars so everyone could get a good look.  We are really hoping to visit there again sometime.

Another thing we enjoyed while we were there was wandering through the old downtown area.   It was so much fun to visit the small shops.  We spent the whole afternoon there.  My husband purchased a fresh baked loaf of bread and they ate all of it before we left. Each of the children had a certain amount of money to buy a souvenir before leaving.

Of course we had to take evening walks on the beach too!  Just as the sun was going down!  It was perfect! We have visited a few other beaches on the east coast and I think we need to visit the west coast some time.    I am sure there are some great beaches there as well.

We generally like to visit during the off season.  There are not as many people and of course that really makes me happy.  One thing we like to do is get out first thing in the morning just as the sun is coming up.  It is so quiet and peaceful!

What beaches can you recommend?  Is there one you and your family have enjoyed visiting?  Leave a comment and let me know!  Thanks neighbors!  See you soon At the Fence!

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back. Although this is fine to do, as long as you’ve done plenty of research on the country, it makes much more sense to visit the country first. This way you can get used to the culture, and will know in advance whether or not the country is somewhere that you’d actually like to live. 2. Research The Country You need to do lots of research before you move abroad, especially if you haven’t visited the count
