Jiffy Lube and Our Branson Trip!

Hey neighbors!

Everyone knows when you take a trip, you want to make sure your vehicle is up and running.  Not just running, but running well!  So, I was really excited when Jiffy Lube agreed to participate in our 30th Anniversary in Branson Event!  My husband takes care of the vehicles on a regular basis.  He checks tires, fluids, lights, and brakes, before any trip.  So, as we left for Branson he mentioned we would need an oil and lube before our trip was over.  In steps Jiffy Lube.  We really like to use Jiffy Lube on a regular basis because it is a name you can trust.

So, as we prepared to head back to children and home, we stopped in at a Jiffy Lube to have the oil and lube taken care of.  Jiffy Lube had our vehicle in and out within about 15-20 minutes.  Now, I realize sometimes you can run into a longer wait, but they were very efficient.  And of course when they finish up they let you know if you have any other problems they noticed.  We need to replace a wiper blade.  The employee who waited on us was very polite and actually walked out to our vehicle as we left.  Not just a thank you, here's your keys, next please!

Below I am going to share some tips from Jiffy Lube:

Fuel Efficiency Tips from Jiffy Lube for a Worry-Free Summer Road Trip Experience

ü  Oil Grade: Using the recommended grade of oil for your vehicle can help save money. According to the Federal Government, using your vehicle manufacturer’s recommended oil grade (found in your owner’s manual) can improve gas mileage 1 to 2%**.

ü  Tire Pressure: Improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3% by maintaining the proper tire pressure**. Tire pressure is vehicle-specific and typically found on a decal in the door jamb or in the owner’s manual. Check it regularly to ensure the correct levels and don’t forget your spare!

ü  Observe the Speed LimitGas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 50 mph. It pays to obey the law: every 5 mph over 50 mph can mean paying an extra $0.24 per gallon for gas**.

ü  Avoid Aggressive Driving: Speeding, rapid acceleration and braking can lower your gas mileage by 33% at highway speeds and by 5% when driving around town**. Sensible driving isn’t just safe, it’ll also help you save.

ü  Use Cruise Control & Overdrive GearsUsing both for highway trips can help save gas, and steer you toward greater savings.

ü  Lighten Your Load:  Keep it simple and pack light to maximize gas savings. Extra weight means more strain on your vehicle and more fuel burn: vehicle drag can decrease your vehicle’s fuel efficiency by 2%**.

**According to the Federal Government. Gas-saving percentages are from the Department of Energy http://www.fueleconomy.govDrivers can also visit www.JiffyLube.com for more information.

Now, one neighbor will receive a $35 Jiffy Lube card.  Here is what you can use it for:

Preventive Maintenance and the Jiffy Lube Gift Card: Regular preventive maintenance is the best way to keep a vehicle running for years to come – and the Jiffy Lube Gift Card can help.
·         The Jiffy Lube Gift Card can be redeemed for the popular Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change, which provides drivers with much more than just an oil and filter change. The service includes changing, inspecting, checking/filling and cleaning key vehicle parts and fluids and offers drivers a quick and convenient way to maintain their vehicle.
·         A Jiffy Lube Gift Card can be loaded with any dollar amount from $5 to $300 and can be redeemed toward any Jiffy Lube preventive maintenance service. The card has no inactivity fees or expiration date and it’s available for purchase at www.jiffylube.com or in-store.

Facebook page: Feel free to browse the Jiffy Lube Facebook page (http://www.Facebook.com/JiffyLube) for more information.

So hurry up and enter!  Jiffy Lube helped make our trip GREAT!

Disclosure:I received no monetary compensation for this review.  I did receive a Jiffy Lube Gift Card for review purposes.  All quotes in red are from Jiffy Lube.  All thoughts and opinions are mine.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
