Professor B E-Learning Math

Hey neighbors!

I hope you are enjoying reading these curriculum reviews.  Up next is Professor B Math E-Learning.  We have only worked in Level 1 and 2 so far as we are using this as a review program over the summer.  We will continue to work through the these levels before moving on.  I personally printed off quite a bit of the workbook so we could work on it throughout the day and even when we took quick trips.

The actual online lessons are sort of set up like a Power point program.  You click through and read the slides.  This is great for a child who reads well and can understand what is being taught.  Otherwise a teacher/parent should sit there and read to the student and explain the lesson making sure the student understands. Thus the parent becomes a Master teacher!  There are also the workbook pages that you can print off, all at once or a few at a time.  We punched holes in ours and put them in a notebook.

Professor B definitely explains the math in an easy to understand manner.  It builds on the previous lesson and I believe your child will have a good understanding of what they are learning.  I do wish it was more interactive though, not just click and go.  You do have to take into consideration printing off the workbook.  We personally have a printer with inexpensive ink just for such projects.  I am afraid it would be too expensive otherwise.

Professor B E-Learning is divided up into 3 Levels.  You can choose any one level for $20 a month.  If you choose 2 levels, it would be $20 for the first level and then $15 for the second level.  Or if you would like all three, it is $20 for the first level, $15 for the second level and $10 for the third level.  There is also a plan where you can receive all three levels for 3 years for one price.  Be sure to check out their website for that pricing.

From Prof B:

We also have a new price change on our yearly subscription.  Our program can now be purchase for $100 for 3 years access to each level. Our IT department is working on changing the site.  However, if the customers call 678-765-6655 we will be able take their order and honor the new price.

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back. Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child
