General Mills and Curvy Straws

Hi Neighbors!

Do any of you have trouble getting your children to drink the milk in their cereal bowl?  Have you ever heard, "It is too yucky!"?  Well through My Blog Spark and General Mills I have a great solution!

Prize Pack

I received the Big G Curvy Straw Prize Pack recently.  It included:
1-box of a Big G participating cereal (I received Cocoa Puffs)
1-Curvy Straw (There was one in the cereal box too!)
1-"Spilt" Milk Bowl
2-Glow Cups
2-Tangle Toys

Now, to begin with, cereal never lasts long in my family.  So, I had to take pictures right away, or I would have missed it all.  The curvy straws are included so your child can "slurp" up the last drop of milk in their bowl!  Does it work?  Sure it does!  Just this morning, my husband asked my daughter why she was making so much noise and of course, why she was using a straw in her bowl of cereal!  She managed to drink all her milk in her bowl.  And she is the worst at leaving milk in the bowl.  By drinking the milk in the bowl your child will be working towards getting their body's daily milk, calcium and vitamin D needs fulfilled.

Slurrping her milk while wearing her tangle toys as bracelets!
There is a little button on the bottom of the cup to make it glow!

Specially marked boxes of Big G cereals will have curvy straws inside.  As they collect these, your child can then mix and match and build bigger more intricate straws, all the while encouraging them to drink their milk!

  • Be sure to collect all six different colorful straws featuring beloved Big G cereal characters
  • Participating Big G cereals include Cinnamon Toast Crunch® (17 oz.), Lucky Charms®(16 oz.), Reese´s® Puffs (18 oz.), Honey Nut Cheerios® (17 oz.), Trix®(14.8 oz)  and Cocoa Puffs® (16.5 oz)
  • Made with more whole grain than any other ingredient, Big G cereal, combined with a ½ cup of milk, can help provide a great start to your family´s day
And that is not all! You can visit this link to download a printable coupon for $1.25 off of the purchase of (2) boxes of participating Big G cereal today!

Of course I an sure they will also enjoy the glow in the dark cups.  Mine do!

Wee one is not fond of drinking the milk from her bowl once she has eaten the cereal (she loves lucky charms) so perhaps a fun straw would encourage her to do it!
they slurp the milk from their bowls, but this straw would be way cooler

Oh totally! What's worse is when they leave just a few pieces of cereal floating in the milk left in the bowl. You can't dump it down the sink, and you can't dump it in the garbage. You have to separate it. Annoying with a capital A!

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
