Hey Neighbors!
As most of you know I was diagnosed with diabetes in late May. I had severe back pain, and when they took me to the ER where after they lowered the pain some, I was told I had a bulging disc and diabetes. They started me on 2 medications for diabetes along with a pain killer and muscle relaxer. I was told to count my carbs. I was allowed 60 carbs per meal. Well, that seemed like alot to me, so I started cutting back and soon was off all medications. Yeah! After about 4 weeks I started walking on the treadmill 3 days a week. Very slow at first!
After a couple of weeks, I noticed that I was able to do a little more on the treadmill, and I was feeling better. In 6 months, I lost 40-45 lbs. I began to feel better, and noticed my clothing getting looser. Super! I am still counting carbs, and working on the treadmill 3 days a week. Of course I have increased my time and speed. I now walk 40 minutes 3 days a week, and walk 2 miles with a 5 minute cool down.
When I was offered a chance to try Slim-Fast I was definitely interested, I just needed to check the carbs. Was I surprised! One Slim Fast Shake, the Creamy Chocolate is only 4 carbs per shake. I didn't realize that at first, and I got the Rich Chocolate Royale (doesn't have a strong diet taste, and my husband LOVES chocolate). So, I will probably let my husband drink the rest of these, and I will have to pick up a different pack.
Anyway, with the new Slim Fast 3, 2, 1 program, you can work on loosing that weight for the holidays, or special event. With this program you choose 3 nourishing snacks a day, like the Slim Fast 100 calorie snack bars. Next replace 2 meals a day with 2 Slim Fast Shakes or Bars. Last, you have one balanced meal approx. 500 calories.
You can find Slim-Fast at your local Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, etc., usually in the pharmacy section. You can use this plan to help from gaining those extra holiday pounds that seem to plaque everyone this time of year. Plan so you have your shakes during the day, and then enjoy your family meals together in moderation. Personally, I am still trying to shed a few more pounds, and I hope Slim Fast can help with this. Be sure to like Slim Fast on Facebook, and stay up to date on what they have going on.
