Hi Neighbors!
My question is, have you ever had cosmetic dentistry? I did, several years ago. Back when my husband was in the military we were at the base where they first tested veneers. I was chosen to be one of their guinea pigs! So, not only did I have the pleasure of visiting a dentist several times, they also took pictures throughout the whole procedure! Before, during and after! So somewhere in some military dentistry manual or records are pictures of my teeth!
They did a very good job by the way. All four front teeth received veneers, that lasted over 15 years! Not bad! They looked great and I was able to eat everything like normal. Until that awful day 15 years later. One of my veneers fell out. We were traveling headed to a meeting, and of course I was not able to just drop in to a dentist and say, "Hey, could you fix this?". So, what do you do in this situation? Super Glue to the rescue! No I do not recommend this to anyone, it is just the choice we made. My husband helped me, so it wouldn't end up glued on crooked and sideways! Or glued to my lip or something. I can see the emergency room visit now! "Could you please help me remove this tooth from my lip?" I did have to be careful of what I bit into, and of course was very self conscious when I smiled. I mean what if it came loose? All worked well, and the veneer was eventually replaced. I have now, 20 years after they were originally put on, had all four replaced, but they did hold up for a very long time.
I do have to share a funny dental story with you though. Because my husband used to be a dental tech at one time, he always helped the children when their tooth was so loose that it was catching sideways, or became so uncomfortable, but just hadn't completely come loose yet. He would just assist it out. Well, when our youngest started having teeth fall out, she started coming to me and saying, I have a loose tooth, but don't tell dad! She will wiggle, poke, and play with the tooth, just so dad can't. Somehow she thinks it hurts more when he does it, than when she does! So finally after days of playing with the tooth, she will walk out and proudly display the tooth to dad! She makes me laugh over this because she tries to keep it a secret just between the two of us!
I am participating in a blogger campaign by Bucks2Blog for cosmetic dentistry Nashville and was compensated. However, the views and opinions are my own.
