Grand Gift Guide At the Fence Post #52

Hello Neighbors,

What a dreary day today!  It has been drizzling all day.  Makes you want to sit at home wrapped in a blanket with a book and some Hot Cocoa/Tea and a little snack.  You know maybe something like Cobra Corn!  If you have never heard about Cobra Corn you need to check them out!

Cobra Corn is a popcorn with "bold flavors for adventurous souls".  Here is a little information about Cobra Corn... "The Cobra Corn recipe was invented by Dr. Teju Shah in Lexington, Massachusetts. Teju is a dedicated doctor, mother of four, and extraordinary cook! She was born and raised in India and moved to the United States in 1964. Today, the Cobra Corn – Mumbai Masala recipe is the foundation for Dishoom Foods, a company founded by her son, Mihir Shah.  Growing up, Mihir was (and still is) quite the perfectionist when it comes to food. He also wanted to eat American food all the time to fit in. That no doubt gave a lot of challenges to his Mom. During his senior year of high school, he came home and the house was filled with an amazing aroma. He walked into the kitchen and there was a pan filled with seasoned popcorn on the stove. He took a bite and was instantly hooked. And so Cobra Corn was born.  Ever since then, Mihir’s Mom regularly made Cobra Corn and sent it to him at college where his buddies also got hooked. On some days Mihir would return to his room to find that his roommate picked up his packages so that all of his friends could start chowing down on the savory popcorn!  In each of the different cities he lived, worked and studied, the popcorn was sent to him and more and more people got hooked. He was then encouraged to share this new and delicious popcorn with the world. Cobra Corn is popcorn seasoned with our one-of-a-kind flavor, Mumbai Masala. A unique blend of 10 Indian spices & seasonings that will make your mouth water!  And guess what? Cobra Corn only uses real spices and seasonings. That’s why it’s so deliciously tasty! You get an explosion of flavor without any junk."

This popcorn is really good.  It isn't like hot-spicy it is more that it has a variety of spices on it.  My little sister (11) really likes it.  Here are some pictures of my family enjoying the Cobra Corn popcorn...

 Here my Dad tries it...

And here my sister is trying it.

Here is the popcorn after my family tried it. :D

This would be a great gift for someone.  Just make sure you buy yourself a bag!  Make sure you like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay up with the latest news.

Cobra Corn has agreed to send on Neighbor a bag of the Mumbai Masala Popcorn!

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
