Bodylastics Review and Giveaway!

Gift Guide Post #41

Hi neighbors!

Most of you know, that I have started dieting and exercising since having a back problem and being diagnosed with Diabetes.  So far I have lost 40 lbs.  and of course am off my medications.  I started out on a treadmill and have slowly increased my workouts.  Well, I believe it has been an encouragement to my family.  So now I have a super great gift idea for the men!  It is called Bodylastics!  And seriously women use it too, I just thought that this is one of the products that will fit our male gifts.

Full bag!

Carry Bag

Anyway, Bodylastics is an entire portable workout system.  My husband likes it alot because you can easily add or remove tension, and thus the weight you are working with.  It has both arm, leg, back, chest, shoulders and abs.  There is a section for exercises for men and for women.  And the very best part is that it all fits into a carry bag that you can take with you on trips, etc.

Nice, big, sturdy, clips, with the weight clearly marked.

Handles with rings for attaching bands.

Bodylastics is a resistance bands based workout.  It comes with, (at least the set I received):
2 clip handles
2 ankle straps
2 door anchors
1 black elastic 23 lbs.
1 blue elastic 19 lbs.
1 red elastic 13 lbs.
1 green elastic 7 lbs.
1 yellow elastic 3 lbs.
1 instructional DVD
1 User Manual
1 travel bag

Clipped together.  Easy to clip or unclip.

Door anchor piece.

First off they suggest you familiarize yourself with the Bodylastics.  Learn how to properly attach and use all the pieces.  Learn the different terms that will be used in the manual and on the DVD.  There are basically 3 programs; Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.  The manual is then broken down into Body Toning, Muscle Building, Specific Muscle Groups, Sports, and Exercises.

Ankle strap.

DVD
I love how easy it is to use and that it is so portable.  How many times do you stop exercising because you travel, and can not take your equipment with you.  Or there are none of the gyms you attend in the area you are visiting.  What a problem!  With Bodylastics, you take your equipment and gym with you!  Simple!

Everything ready!

Looking over the manual and checking out ankle strap.
Each exercise is clearly defined and explained in the manual.  It also shows you what muscles you will be working and toning.  Obviously I am still working with less tension, but will slowly build up.  My two teenage sons on the other hand can work with quite a bit more.  That is another benefit too!  My whole family can use this and adjust it to their needs.  We don't have to bring a bunch of different weights or equipment.  It all fits in one bag, and we just adjust which bands we are using, or swap them out.

Here we go.

Works well!
There are so many exercises that can be done with Bodylastics.  I am more into toning right now.  Doing squats, one arm rows, one arm tricep extensions, and biceps curls.  My sons would do toning and bodybuilding.  They would do; overhead triceps extension, standing forward triceps extension, biceps curls, reverse forward lat extensions, one arm chest press, and there are so many more.  It is truly amazing what you can do with the Bodylastics system.

Using the door anchor.
Just make sure your door is tightly closed.
Remember, besides the manual, you also have a DVD, and online they have more exercises, along with some videos you can watch to see how an exercise is done.  They also have a live program.  You can grab your Bodylastics, go to their website and choose to watch a live workout.  Look at all the choices you have with Bodylastics.

Now, don't you think this would make a great gift for someone? Bodylastics will be giving the winner of this giveaway a Bodylastics system just like mine.

Bodylastics provides resistance training without the joint pain and injuries.
"Unlike free weights, elastic resistance does NOT create momentum. It's momentum that causes so many injuries - the weights keep moving, but the ligaments and tendons do not."

I like that it take little room for not only using but for storing! We have very limited space so the smaller the better

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
