Nu BowWow Puppy Starter Kit Review and Giveaway!

We got a new puppy! Yes, you heard that right. We have added a Sheltie puppy to our home. He came home Tuesday! And he is adorable! Now, bringing Webster home was made easier by having received Nu BowWow's Puppy Starter Kit. It is really a great idea if you are getting a puppy, or know someone who is. (Also would make be great for a person to send out with their puppies when they go to a new home!)




I was able to talk to Ellen, who started Nu BowWow. 1.The Puppy Survival Guide by Ellen Stieve- This book is 54 pages long and is filled with information to help you on your journey as a puppy owner. There are little tips and tricks to help you adjust to having a puppy in your home. The book does not overload or overwhelm you with information. It gives just enough information to help guide you through this transition and includes websites where you can look up more information if needed. Here are a few of the headings:

2. A food and water bowl. Just the perfect size for a puppy! Webster is already using his!



3. A leash and collar. Webster's is a nice dark green. So glad it wasn't pink! He wears his collar all the time, but we only use the leash occasionally right now to get him used to it. We don't expect him to follow or be guided by it yet, he is just a little guy. You can see his collar he is wearing in the first picture.

4. Bone Shaped Waste Bag Holder-This cute little waste bag holder contains fun, color coordinated bags. It has a little bone shaped clip to attach to your belt. This makes it perfect for walks and travel.



5. A Chompion Hard Rubber Toy was included. Now, I don't think everyone receives the same toy, but a toy is included in each starter kit.



6. Stain Remover-For those little accidents that are going to occur occasionally.



7. A sample of All Natural Dog Treats. Webster's were peanut butter flavored.



8. A puppy announcement post card. You fill in the information about your new puppy, attach a photo, add postage and let your friends know you have a new puppy!



I also received a magnet welcoming me to Nu BowWow Village. And there was a small sample of Canine Calm. A spray scent to help calm and soothe your dog.

You might be wondering why we created Nu BowWow.

This is our story….

Ellen says: Two years ago I decided it was time for a pup. After enjoying the company of some very special four-legged friends, I wanted to take the leap and get a furry friend of my own. Wow, Talk about a life changing experience! I did loads of research before choosing Yogi, my little Goldendoodle, but I was unprepared for what would happen after I brought my puppy home.

Over the next three months, I found myself overwhelmed by the experience of new puppy parenting. But — probably just like you — I had made a commitment to my puppy and I was determined to see it through. I talked to friends and read all the information I could find. When I was most frustrated, I wished that Yogi could just tell me what he needed, Since he couldn’t, I turned to my new network of doggie friends for support. Soon. Yogi and I started to click. The training began to work. Puppy parenting got easier, and of course, I fell in love with my new pup.

We created Nu BowWow to give other new puppy owners one reliable source for everything you need to know about your ”nu” puppy. In addition to providing you with our puppy-safe and puppy-tested products, the Nu BowWow Puppy Starter Kit offers more expert advice and collective wisdom at our online community, “Puppy Parents” on Facebook. Yogi says: I remember the day that Ellen (my Mom) came to get me. I was lounging in the warm sun, and then — there she was! I sniffed her feet, licked her hands, and barked to tell her how much I wanted to go home with her. When she picked me up, I knew I was part of a new family!

Moving to a new place can be confusing at first and those first few weeks weren’t always easy. Sometimes I had “accidents”, sometimes I thought she just didn’t understand what I needed. But I knew she was really trying, so I tried really hard too. I learned to go outside, learned that you are not supposed to chew on furniture, and when we go walking I learned to politely stop by her side (so she can catch her breath), and now she is my best friend in the world.

I helped my Mom create the Nu BowWow Puppy Starter Kit by testing all the products and telling her what made me and my pals happy. I want every new puppy to have as much fun with their new owners as I have with mine!
