Omron Heart Rate Monitor Review and Giveaway
Another great product for the Get Out and Get Active! An Omron Heart Rate Monitor ($59.99)! Once again due to my disc problem my daughter was the one to try this out. This is seriously not fair! Anyway, one of the great things about a heart rate monitor is that you can make sure you are exercising in your zone. You can monitor your heart rate and then adjust your pace for either a slower workout or a more intensive workout. This monitor comes witha high and low alert so you can make sure you stay right where you are supposed to. Not overdoing it, yet not taking it too easy! You can wear the wrist receiver on your wrist, or you can mount it on your bike or treadmill so it is easy for you to read. This Omron Heart Rate Monitor comes with:
1-Wrist Receiver Watch
1-Transmitter Strap (Chest size 29" to 55")
1-Receiver Mounting Bracket
2-"Lithium" Batteries (installed)
(Above nice carry case with loop for belt or a clip to snap on.)
Here is how it all fits.
It is important to know your "zone". The most popular zones range between 50%-80% of your maximum heart rate (MHR). You can estimate MHR and "Zone" using the following formula. 220-age=MHR For optimum weight loss keep your heart rate between 60% to 70% of MHR.
Above is the clip for mounting the watch on your treadmill or bike.
My daughter thought the chest strap might bother her, but after 35 minutes of exercise, she said she didn't even notice it was on. Her max in her zone is 196, and she said she went from about 160 to a high of 181. I can't wait to try it! The whole monitor system fits in the small storage case and can be easily carried to the gym or wherever you may be going to workout.
Above is the chest strap.
If you are just starting an exercise program or are already active, the Omron Heart Rate Monitor would be a great investment! Or perhaps you could win one right here!
