Hey neighbors!
The family has been out putting in some plants, and I can't help! Can you hear the pouting! I love to work outside with plants, but with my back I am not allowed to bend that far. This is so unfair. So, I guess I will just take some time here to tell you how interesting this new game is that I received from Educational Insights! It is called Inching Along (The moonlight madness measuring game). My daughters played it and really had a lot of fun.
Above is the Game Board.
Line F is 6 inches.
First you set up the Inching Along game board. The game board has a pathway through a campground with bears, dogs, racoons and rabbits. A few tents, and fireflies with lines drawn between them. The lines are labeled A,B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. There are four characters with stands. 1-racoon 1-rabbit, 1-bear and 1-dog. Also included is one ruler and the game cards. The cards have equations on them like A+B=. Your child is then to use the ruler to measure the length of the lines A and B and add them together to get the amount of spaces he/she is to move. There are 10 red cards in the deck that do not require any addition or subtraction, they just have to measure the line. There are also 3 multiplication cards. The rest are addition or subtraction. You can remove the cards that your child is not yet ready for. The squares are numbered one through 75, so the goal is to get to 75. Pretty simple and yet educational. Helping young children count to 75, others will practice addition and subtraction, even multiplication, all along with learning to measure with a ruler. Not bad for a game!
Inching Along is available through Educational Insights. You may order it there for $19.99 or you can try to win one here.
Here is a quick video showing my daughter making a move.
