Newman's Own Organics Review and Giveaway

Hi Neighbors!

I know this month is centering on Get Out and Get Active, so I want to include some great snacks to take with you when you head out the door. Ready to go walking, to the park, out to play with the children... Grab some of the Newman's Own Organics foods. We chose four of their products that will be included in a giveaway, but let me tell you, it was a hard choice.

My husband chose their Chocolate Bars. He especially liked the Dark Chocolate. I do have to admit that dark chocolate has always been his favorite, but he is sold on Newman's Own Organics. Hearing my husband rave about a candy bar is definitely unusual. He said they were fresh, with a unique taste.

My sons chose the Licorice Twists. They come in Black, Strawberry, Pomegranate and Tangerine, but his favorite was the Strawberry. And the best part about it is they are organic! And he still loved them. On our trip out west he ate one whole package by himself! Toss a 5 0z package in your purse, backpack, tote bag, whatever and head out with a snack that is great tasting and good for you too!

My oldest daughters, and my husband really enjoyed the Chocolate Cups. It was a toss up between the Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cups and the Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. I think we actually had fights over these!

Here is a sample of the ingredients:
Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups: Organic Dark Chocolate (Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Organic Chocolate Liquor*, Organic Cocoa Butter*, Organic Soy Lecithin [an emulsifier], Organic Vanilla), Creamy Peanut Butter, Organic Yogurt Coating (Organic Sugar [evaporated cane juice] Organic Palm Kernel Oil, Organic Nonfat Yogurt [Milk], Lactic Acid, Organic Soy Lecithin[an emulsifier], Salt and Organic Vanilla), Palm Kernel Oil, Peanut Flour, Salt.

When it comes to cookies, Newman's Own Organics holds their own. You should try their Champion Chip Cookies. We all enjoyed the Chocolate Chocolate Chip, and the Double Chocolate Mint Chip. I think the children preferred the Chocolate Chocolate Chip. I think they get that from their father!

Here is what they have to say about these cookies:
"With our line of organic chocolate bars, we already had the source for the chocolate," states Nell. "The next step was developing the right recipe for a terrific tasting cookie. In searching for a way to have the highest percentage of organic ingredients possible without compromising the taste, we found the perfect answer in organic palm fruit oil. We were able to take out a non-organic ingredient, conventional butter, and replace it with an organic ingredient, palm fruit oil, and produce a wonderful cookie with no hydrogenated oils."

I am really impressed with the quality of the Newman's Own Organics food products. These would make excellent snacks as you Get Out and Get Active! Make sure you check out their page on What's Organic?

It is very important to me that the food we eat is organic because I worry about all the chemicals that could be present in food that is not grown organically. I want the healthiest food for my family.

Eating organic food is actually really important to me, or at least has become this past year. After really doing some research on what's in a lot of the food we eat, I decided to make a change. We feel much better now too! :)

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
