Book Review/Giveaway The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast

Hi Neighbors,

Beautiful day again down here in Florida. We have actually had to run the air in our RV. I have this neat book to share with you today! It is by Kristen Feola and is called The Ultimate Guide to the Daniel Fast. For the rest of the post I will refer to the book as the Daniel Fast.

The Daniel Fast starts out with information on Daniel and how the fast is based on Daniel when he was taken to Babylon. He asked to be allowed to eat certain foods rather than the food from the king. Basically they state Daniel ate fruits and vegetables and drank water. The book focuses on this being a time of sacrifice and drawing closer to the Lord. Spending extra time in prayer and reading. Meditating on God's Word. The fast is meant to last 21 days. It also describes different types of fasts:1. Absolute 2. Supernatural absolute 3. Liquid, 4. Partial.

Part 2 is a day by day devotional guide. Now I did have a few problems with some of the assumptions drawn here that were not based on fact. You just need to be careful if you use this section that it all lines up with Scripture. Also I had to look verses up myself because I only use the KJV. You could also do your own devotions if you desire to.

The third section of the book is about the food you should eat during this fast. There is a menu outline that you can use. The recipes are included along with some color pictures of some of the recipes.. This is another section that I would have to work with, or work around as some of the recipes call for items, I do not normally purchase or rally care for. Once again you can use these recipes, make slight changes if you need to, or come up with your own. A vary important part of this fast is to drink water. It states in the book that you should drink half your weight in water. I do drink a lot of water, but I could use some improvement here.

Also when going on a fast like the Daniel Fast, when you have completed your 21 days you need to begin eating other food slowly. Eat small portions and definitely try to keep your water intake up.

There are quotes from different people who have tried the fast. Some were individuals, families and even whole churches or groups that participated in the Daniel Fast at one time. I found these interesting to read.

One winner will receive a copy of the Daniel Fast.

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
