Best Pals Review and Giveaway!

Hi Neighbors,

I wanted to visit At the Fence with you for a few minutes this afternoon to share "Best Pals... No Matter What!" They are the cutest rag dolls. They are based on Kathy and Janet Lennon's original rag dolls given to them in 1949 when the were young girls. The dolls were made by their mom and Nana. Each doll is part of a numbered and limited edition. The dolls have a beaded bracelet that say Best Pals. One is blonde hair (yarn) and blue eyed (faces are embroidered). She is in a sweet pale yellow dress with bunnies all over it and she has green ribbons on her braids. The other doll has brown hair and blue eyes. She is in a bright yellow dress with what looks like a child sitting on a brick wall and she has pink ribbons on her braids. Both of the dolls have cream colored socks and shoes. The clothing is removable for play. So your little girl can change their outfits. They are really adorable and are $25 each.

"These products were based on their own lifelong friendship, their love for a pair of handmade ragdolls and their concern for the lack of non-electric toys in the marketplace. They launched their own children's product line-Best Pals. The wholesome toys with a nod back to their 1950's childhood were developed especially for parents and grandparents looking to provide their children and grandchildren with high quality toys at affordable prices, with the underlying premise of having and being a trusted friend. With a host of awards from Dr. Toy, iParenting Media, the National Parenting Center, NAPPA, and the Creative Child, the product has been recognized by parents, educators, and children for outstandling play value."

This set is adorable.

Isn't it feminine?

With the dolls I received their Best Pals Tin Tea Set. It is a 15 pc. set that comes in a heavy cardboard travel case for storage. It includes 4 plates, 4 saucers, 4 cups, a serving tray, and a teapot with a lid. It is recommended for children 3 years old and up. The set is floral and plaid with the two Lennon sisters as little girls holding their dolls. It is in yellows, greens, and pinks! Very feminine looking! ($29.95) I didn't take pictures of the entire set as these are still in the carrying case to be used as a gift. Shhhhhh!

Also included was a cd. for children. It is called Best Pals Sing Together. it includes:
"Best Pals Sing Together contains children’s classics such as Aba Daba Honeymoon/Animal Fair, (I love you) A Bushel and a Peck, Candy Man, Doggie in the Window, Inch Worm (1 & 1 are 2), Let’s Go Fly a Kite, Little Child (Mommy Dear), Pick Yourself Up, and Whistle a Happy Tune."
This is meant to be a fun time cd. ($20.00) To hear a sample of some of the tunes, click here.

I think she wanted to change a diaper!

How sweet!

This is a handful!

What a great gift basket this would make for some little girl. You can order any of these products online at their store, or you can use the store locator if you would rather shop in a store. And one of my neighbors is going to win their own set.

I had a teddy bear that held a hamburger between his paws.I loved that bear and I took it everywhere.I was very ill as a child so poor hamburger bear went to the doctors office almost every day with me. He eventually got old and torn and my folks convinced me to throw him away.So SAD!

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.
