Tea Posy Review and Giveaway! Fall Festival!

Hey Neighbors!

Welcome to the first review and giveaway of the Fall Festival At the Fence!  Make sure to let everyone know about this event!  This first product is something you can enjoy on a cool fall morning as you start your day.  Or maybe in the evening as the sun goes down.  Actually anytime throughout the day would be a good time to enjoy your Tea Posy Blooming Teas.  Tea is one of my favorite drinks, so here we go.  I received the most gorgeous glass tea pot from Tea Posy with a built in strainer in the spout.  It looks so delicate and fragile.  Which goes right along with the teas.  These teas actually bloom right before your eyes.  The Tea Posy (Blooming Teas are tied very tightly and they require boiling water to bloom.)  I have to confess I have never tried a tea posy before but my whole family was excited to watch them bloom.  Here are the names of the ones I received:Crown Me, Red Song, Butterfly, Heart of Love, Calendula, Lady Fairy, Let it Snow, and Falling Water. Just the names sound beautiful!  I also received 2 Spring Sonata Loose leaf Tea Sachets.  The tea sachets contain-Hibiscus, Lily, Lavender, Rose, Sweet Leaves, Forget Me Not, and Chinese Globe Flower.  Now, stick with me here because if you have never tried a tea posy you need to hear the description  below or watch the video.  Each Tea Posy will make 4-6 pots of tea.  The Tea Posies are made with the highest grade of rare silver needle white tea leaves. The teas are scented with only natural jasmine flowers.  No artificial flowers are used.

Beautiful Glass Teapot
Tea Posies

Now for the really neat part.  You place your tea posy gently in the pot and bring a kettle of water to a fast boil.  Once boiling slowly pour the boiling water into the glass tea pot and then sit down to watch.  Yes, I said sit down to watch.  As you watch the tea posy slowly blooms right there in your tea pot. It gently starts to unfold and then the bloom appears.  Gorgeous!  As stated above each tea posy will make 4-6 pots of tea.  You just need to slowly pour more hot water in (not on the bloom) and let steep to your taste.  You can even save your bloom for a few days, by gently placing cold water in the tea pot and put on display.  You could also gently move the blossom to another glass container filled with cold water.  Your blossom should last a few days.

As for the taste, I found the ones I have already tried tasted great. You can also make iced tea, by pouring your tea over ice. (They suggest not sweetening the tea and I did not try adding any sweetener.  You will have to experiment with that yourself.  Tea Posies are not decaffeinated, but white tea contains the lowest level of caffeine among all caffeinated teas and coffee drinks.

How Tea Posy began:

"We began by bringing some teaposies and a tea kettle to a gift shop in Rochester, NY. It was "Black Friday" in 2005, and we were surrounded by eager shoppers. Within a few short hours, we had to drive back home to get more supplies. A little girl and her grandma stood in front of our table for the longest time, savoring the tea and marveling at the beauty of the blossoms… And that was how teaposy found its way into the hearts of its very first customers.
Since then, customers have returned to us with their stories of how teaposy has cheered their friends, comforted patients, touched mothers' hearts...
We hope our products help our customers enjoy quality time, alone or in the company of others. That is our sincerest goal"

Tea Posy has several  different teapots and other glassware available on their site.

Built in strainer.

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
