Welcome to part 2 of this week's Bake For The Cure baking contest! For the second recipe, I have to bake a family-favorite recipe using ACH Foods products. Well, guess what? One of my family's favorite desserts is Pecan Pie, and we always use Karo Corn Syrup to make it. So, easy choice there! This made for a good excuse to bake a pecan pie! For an added twist I put some chocolate chips in; after trying chocolate pecan pie a few years ago at a restaurant, my family has come to really enjoy the extra chocolate flavor! So, in case any of you all get hungry and want to try this out (this is the best pecan pie recipe I've ever made), here it is!
Ingredients:
3 Eggs
1 cup Karo Dark Corn Syrup
1/2 cup Sugar
2 tablespoons Butter, melted
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/8 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Chopped Pecans
1 Unbaked Pastry Shell (9-inches)
1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)
Directions:
In a small bowl, lightly beat eggs. Stir in corn syrup, sugar, butter, vanilla and salt. Add pecans and mix well.
Sprinkle chocolate chips in the bottom of pie shell; pour pecan mixture over chocolate chips. Cover edges with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove foil; bake 20 minutes longer or until done (a knife inserted near the center should come out clean). Cool; store in refrigerator.

It was orange zest. I know it sounds odd but believe me it is awesome!
Try adding a 1/2 teaspoon of orange zest.
