Doody Digger Review and Giveaway

Hey Neighbors,

It's been awhile. Our internet modem stopped working. Anyway today I have a product that dog owners will love. It is called the Doody Digger. Made of heavy duty poly-ethylene, yet lightweight, only 1.5 lbs. the Doody Digger makes waste clean up easy. Also great if you have a bad back because you don't have to bend over. The only drawback I see is it is not something you would probably carry on a stroll through the neighborhood, but for scooping your own yard this is great. There is a scoop at the end of the long black tube. At the opposite end of the tube you secure your bag with a very sturdy, thick band. So you scoop, lift upwards and gravity carries the waste into the bag. Remove the bag, tie it shut and dispose of the waste. Pretty simple!

I had my son demonstrate for the pictures just how easy Doody Digger is to use. He sort of dramatized a bit.

Doody Digger says:

"I’ve tried all the gadgets available on the market today designed to pick up dog doody. They all work to some extent, but I didn’t like the way they tore up my lawn and still didn’t get the hard to reach doody. When I developed the Doody Digger™, I made sure to incorporate these important features and benefits:
  1. Upright design. No bending over, no more sore back!
  2. Patented shovel-end. Pick up waste without smearing it, or tearing up the grass around it.
  3. One-handed operation. Lets you enjoy a drink, hold a leash etc.
  4. Pick up waste and deposit it in the bag in one easy motion. No more need to carry a separate bag to hold the waste.
  5. Clean operation. No contact with the waste. Gravity takes the waist "straight" into the doody bag.
  6. Made of light weight, durable poly-ethylene plastic. Only weighs 1.5lbs.
  7. One piece construction. No moving parts to break.
  8. Bags can be purchased or re-use grocery bags!
  9. Waste doesn't stick to the side. If it should, cleans easily with a hose."
Doody Digger is giving away 1 Doody Digger to the winner of this giveaway. You can also purchase one on their website for $14.95.

i think this would be handy for my family because we have 3 (yes three!!!) dogs - two shih-tzus that are brother and sister, they're 17 years old and the third is a 3 year old lab/pit mix. The 3 of them take over our yard and when you add an 18 mth old toddler into the mix and want to make sure the lawn is clear for her we go on what we lovingly refer to as the "hunt for landmines!"

our lab, Jake, is a real character - he is afraid of leaves, garden hoses, water puddles, you name it! Just yesterday we brought 2 ladders into the house to install a chandelier and he went straight into panic mode and tried to escape any way he could!

This would sure come in handy as I have 3 Beagles and a large back yard to scoop. Also work full time. So time is precious.

One of the silliest things my youngest Beagle has done is steal a multipack of unpopped microwave pop corn and eat all three bags. He was sick with a stomach ache for several days.

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
