Hi neighbors!
This one is for the children in your life. K-Nex sent us the Light Up Ferris Wheel ($49.99). This Ferris Wheel stands 2 foot high, is motorized and best of all it lights up! Along with that we received the 350 pc. Value Tub ($21.99). Since we were visiting friends recently they all got together and built different things with the 350 pc. set. I have included several pictures. The Ferris Wheel we saved until we were home, and my sons put it together, with a little help from their sisters.
The only problem with the Ferris Wheel? It is huge! We can't decide whether to leave it together or not. I am going to try to take pictures of it lit up, but I think they are going to be to blurry. I will definitely show pictures of the finished project though. My one son is considering taking it apart to see if he can create any thing else with the pieces, especially the motorized part. He is the one who almost exploded a battery on us one time playing around with a science kit. He came up and said, "Hey mom feel how hot this battery is getting!" Needless to say I quickly removed the wires! We will see. Here is a link to the Ferris Wheel on K-Nex that shows it moving and lit up.

With the 350 piece set they built the bike, glider, camera, T-Rex, and dune buggy. Unfortunately because the adults were sitting around talking, I didn't take pictures of them building. We just took pictures of the finished product. They really did have fun and we brought them on this trip too, for easy, quick entertainment.

These are a great gift item for children. Much better than sitting in front of the TV or computer. K-Nex uses a child's imagination. They use their hands for more than the video game controls. This is the type of toy I like my children to have. They can play, create, and use their minds.
K-Nex History:
"It all began one evening when Joel Glickman was playing with straws. That's right... straws! While sitting at a crowded, noisy wedding Joel began tinkering with some straws and thinking about the possibilities. This dabbling, followed by some innovative product engineering, led to the very popular Rod and Connector building system now available throughout the world.
But this was just the beginning of the K'NEX concept. Soon K'NEX builders were able to add wheels, pulleys and gears to create vehicles and other innovative creations. Easy-to-follow, color-coded instructions, included in every set, made it easy to bring the models to life.
Then came the products that MOVE. From simple mechanical drives to special models with integrated motors, K'NEX products were really going places. This led to programmable control, including the CyberK'NEX concept that allows actions and personalities to be downloaded from the Internet.
New color palettes were introduced for realistic and hot looking vehicles and space models. The new Cool Machines line include chrome wheels and parts for even greater realism.
Today K'NEX continues to pace the construction toy worlds with quality and innovation, and maintains this online presence to keep in touch with its users, their parents, and the general community."
K-Nex also has free lesson plans on their site for Educators. Homeschool moms make sure you check them out. There is a section just for parents. And they even have a club!
K-Nex is giving a 350 pc. Value Tub to the winner of this giveaway. K-Nex is the type of toy I like to share At the Fence.
