Hey neighbors!

So good to see you out At the Fence today! Crane Humidifiers sent me the cutest humidifier. It is a duck! My daughters think it is adorable. About Crane:

"Since 2005, Crane is the first to put the “fun” into functional ordinary looking cool mist humidifiers. Immediately we knew we hit upon a great concept!

While humidifiers are one of the best ways to relieve nasal congestion during cold and flu season, most people don’t break into a smile about the traditionally unexciting appliance. Crane USA Inc. is proud to introduce their uniquely designed adorable animal shaped cool mist humidifiers along with Crane's licensed humidifier designs such as Hello Kitty, Thomas the Tank and SpongeBob Squarepants.

Crane realizes that more than ever before people are looking to improve their health and their home environment. Crane is a company that recognizes these health concerns and people’s individual lifestyles.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates indicate that indoor air pollutant levels may be as much as two to five times higher than outdoor levels. This fact is particularly troubling given that the American’s spend up to 90 percent of their time indoors.

Crane’s success with their humidifiers has allowed Crane to expand to air purifiers. Crane has introduced a line of AHAM certified air purifiers with a five step filtration system including a HEPA filter and UV germicidal light.

Crane is a subsidiary company of Wachsmuth & Krogmann. Established in 1797, Wachsmuth & Krogmann Inc. (W+K) steadily built its international network with affiliated manufacturing facilities in today's key production areas. To guarantee top quality products W+K operates an office in Hong Kong with Product Engineering and Quality Control Departments. W+K offices are situated in Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Chicago, USA."

We even took the Crane Humidifier with us on our last trip. My 9 and 13 year old girls often need the humidifier due to sinus problems, so we just set it up in the hotel room. The added benefit of a night light helped too, as we were in a different setting and it gave them just enough light to see when they had to make a bathroom trip. You control the output, the humidifier is low power consumption, shuts off automatically, and it runs quiet.

I really like the Crane humidifier and they come in different animal shapes. Of course they still carry the original styles. You can find one that will fit in with any decor. You can buy them right on their website. The Duck is $45.99.

The FAQ page has a lot of useful information on care and general help. You can even download the manual.

Crane is offering the winner of this giveaway the Duck Humidifier. This would be great for your own use or as a gift for someone.

Where is this white dust coming from?
The tap water in your area may have too many minerals in it (i.e. hard water). To reduce to this, switch to distilled water or a half tap and half distilled water combination.

Thanks for the giveaway!

Great FAQ page and learnt a lot of things such as: Many physicians recommend the use of humidifiers to help relieve congestion from the common cold, flu, sinus irritation, dry cough and skin. Humidifiers add moisture to the air which will in turn moisten your skin (including nasal passages) and thin some of the mucus in your sinuses.

I didn't know that there are 2-5 more air pollutants inside then outside. I thought outside was worse.

I learned that the humidifiers are quiet and use ultrasonic vibrations at high frequencies to make the mist. The fan that pushes out the air makes a small amount of noise.

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
