Eco-Friendly Lunch Box Giveaway!

Hi Neighbors,

I thought I would try to catch you here At the Fence before I started dinner. I have a new product to share with you. It is Easy Lunch Boxes. I have to tell you these are really great. My lunch box is purple. My daughters, 9 and 12, both love that color. The insulated lunch box, or cooler bag is available in a variety of colors (Black, Dark Red, Olive, Purple and Aqua). They are vinyl free, pvc free, and lead free, with FDA compliant PEVA lining. They can even be washed in a washing machine (cold water, gentle cycle, air dry).

Put together with the compartmentalized containers and you have a near perfect lunch box. The containers come in 4 to a pack with 4 different colored lids. So, assign each child a color for their food container. It has 3 compartments. One large enough for a sandwich and the other two for fruit, or snacks. The containers are of course made of BPA free plastic. They are safe for the refrigerator, freezer, microwave and dishwasher. You can prepare them the night before and in the morning just grab them stick them in the appropriate lunch box add a bottle of water, or extra piece of fruit and go. For a really hungry teen or husband there is enough room in the bag for 2 of the containers!

So, not only are they convenient, they are reusable (supportive of a green lifestyle), and you can pack healthy food for your family! It puts you in control of content and portion size. Check out their FAQ page for more information. And while there you might want to look at their recipes, name tags, etc in their Neat Ideas.

Here is some information directly from Easy Lunch Boxes:
"Born out of my response to unhealthy school lunch programs, EasyLunchboxes.com started from the desire to send my 3 kids to school with a nutritious meal, using little to no wasteful packaging. But the EasyLunchbox System is not just for kids. Adult size meals fit perfectly too.

EasyLunchboxes.com was launched in December, 2009 and is quickly becoming the new favorite among affordable and green lunch box solutions!
The EasyLunchbox System has been rated TOP CHOICE by many independent reviewers. Read their reviews HERE.
I was like other frustrated moms - I didn't like throwing together lunches during the morning rush. So much time was wasted sorting through a cabinet of mismatched food containers while trying to pack 15-25 well-balanced lunches per week. I struggled to find something that would help me pack lunches fast, without resorting to the ‘convenience’ of expensive, pre-packaged ‘fast-food.’ Most importantly, I wanted something attractive, eco-friendly, and made of food-safe materials that I didn’t have to wash by hand.
My clever solution to the lunch-packing chore is the simple two piece EasyLunchbox container : The bottom has three compartments to hold an entree or sandwich and two side dishes. The fitted lid (which comes in 4 colors) covers all three compartments at once. No more squished sandwiches, mismatched plastic container pieces to keep track of (matching up all those bottoms and lids was the thing that drove me nuts!) or wasteful baggies. Fits perfectly inside the roomy EasyLunchbox custom carrying bag. And there is still plenty of room to throw in an extra snack or two, whole fruit, perhaps a thermos of soup, drink and ice block. Flexibility is key, and since so many different things can fit, no matter what menu you choose to include, it packs easily and quickly. It's amazing how much faster, greener, & easier lunch box packing is with the EasyLunchbox system.

Supporting the waste-free lunch movement, EasyLunchboxes.com offers a reusable, superior solution at a much lower price than other companies.
Great for large families and those on a limited budget.
FDA approved. No BPA, phthalates, lead, vinyl, or PVC. Safe for dishwasher and microwave.
The simple chic design and bright colors of our Cooler Bags can even be personalized!
We have included a sturdy grommet in the carrying handle so you can easily attach a pretty key ring, dietary restrictions warning tag, or your choice of any type of handcrafted or store bought “flair.” Examples HERE
Our Cooler Bags are made of the highest quality 300D Polyester for premium durability and toughness. Vinyl free (PVC free) & lead free, with an FDA compliant PEVA lining."

my daughter likes to eat lunch from home and often it ends up squished on the bottom of her backpack. These are hard enough so that they will keep the lunch from getting squished and also are better for the environment than the paper and plastic bags we sometimes use!

I love that these lunch boxes nest inside each other to take up less room in your cupboard. I really really need a set of these. My girls have decided to start taking their own lunches to school and we are always struggling in the morning to find container with matching lids and getting everything ready to go out the door. I would love to have these to ease my whole system. Thank you for the chance!

My daughter is starting on the specific carbohydrate diet after being diagnosed with yet another autoimmune illness. I want to make the transition as fun/easy as possible and a new lunchbox would definitely help. I love that these have compartments and enough room in the cooler to add anything that can't be in the compartments. And that they're made without BPA, etc. is a big plus too!

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
