FASHION PLAYTES $50 Gift Certificate REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY

CLOSED
Hi Again,

Here is a product that I am happy to share with my neighbors At the Fence, Fashion Playtes. I received a beautiful cape, (designed by my daughter) to review, and to make it even better Fashion Playtes has offered a $50 Gift Certificate for a giveaway. Both of my daughters now have a cape from this company (thanks to my older daughter winning a giveaway), and they both love to go to Fashion Playtes and design more items.

Fashion Playtes is great for any young girl. She gets to choose which item to she likes (shirt, jacket, cape, tote, etc.), then design it, using ribbon, appliques, etc. Afterward you can put it on a model, and then, best of all, you can order it and actually wear what was designed. What a great gift idea! It's as simple as:

"Begin With The Sketchbook
All great designs - including our dresses, t-shirts, hoodies, and lots more - begin with a simple drawing. Select the item you would like to use for your design from the Fashion Playtes Sketchbook.

Show Your Style!
Be YOU! Choose a pattern, color and fabric. Add special touches like ribbons, fuffles, appliques and more to make your design unique. This is your chance to show your one-of-a-kind style!

Place Your Order

Happy with your design? Great! Simply add it to your cart and place your order. We'll handle the rest - and have the real thing to your doorstep within 3 weeks. Don't forget to use a Gift Certificate if you have one!

You're A Designer!
Wow! Your item has arrived - and it's exactly what you created! It looks fantastic and everyone loves the quality. Wear it proudly. You're not only a model - you're the designer!

As a Fashion Playtes Designer, you can design your own personal brand and fashion collection. Design your own clothes and accessories that you can acually wear and we send your creation to you! We give you the tools to become the ultimate designer... it's SEW cool™! "

Another nice feature is your daughters can design as many items as they like and save them in an account to come back to later. So she can design as much as she likes. Then when you decide on a design you can order it!! Fashion Playtes is recommended for ages 6-12.

As far as safety is concerned Fashion Playtes has this to say:

"Is your website safe?

Fashion Playtes is dedicated to providing a safe, fun and creative online experience for our young designers. We do not permit any communication at this time between Designers on our site except when an email is sent from one Designer to a friend or family member to share their designs. The Designers identities are always protected by their unique user names. We are a tween and parent friendly company working to ensure privacy and security issues are managed correctly. If you have more questions, please review our privacy policy.
Fashion Playtes is a free site. You can design as many outfits as you like, and you also have the option to purchase anything you create."

When our capes arrived of course, both of my daughters just had to try them on. And, even better, my husband was impressed by the quality of the product. The girls wanted to wear them outside, but since we are presently having temperature in the single digits until well in the afternoon, they were only allowed to wear them inside. Both of my daughters say that Fashion Playtes is worth sharing At the Fence! This company is well worth allowing your young lady to try out.

Now the really good part. Fashion Playtes has offered a $50 Gift Certificate to one of my Neighbors.

I picked the long sleeved dress, chose the blue retro floral for the main color, and added plain blue ruffles and underlayer. Tried out a few rhinestones and appliques but they made it look a bit over the top. I decided I like it simple with just the ruffles and underlayer, no rhinestones or appliques. :)

I went to Fashion Playtes and had a blast designing a dress for Hannah when she is a little bigger than she is now. I chose the Cassidy dress because I love the bell sleeves. I did all sorts of designing, but really like the site!

Just sat down with my daughter, she created an adorable hoodie:
The Hannah (hoodie) with Circles & Waves Teal/Pistachio Ribbon , FP Standard Label, Navy Wallpaper, and Sky Flowers Pocket
She is so excited to create more items! I'd love to win the gift certificate, but I have a feeling, winning or not, my daughter will soon find that hoodie in her closet! :o) Very cool!

Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors! Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First  TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk. The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child

What To Do About Those Fuzzy Uninvited Guests In The Home

When we talk about pests in the home, the most common that we tend to deal with are the creepy-crawlies that find their way in. Ants, termites, and spiders, for instance. Occasionally though, you have a real chance of getting a much bigger, fuzzier unwanted guest in the home. What do you do about the fact your home is at risk of becoming a wildlife sanctuary for some truly unhealthy and even dangerous beasts? Picture by Alexas_Fotos Know the signs It doesn’t matter if you’re in a suburban home, a country cottage, or a fourth-floor apartment. Some animals can find their way just about anywhere. It’s worth knowing the signs of pest infestation so you can confirm it and act on it immediately. Spotting droppings, keeping an ear out for scratching, and looking for signs of nesting like shredded paper, scrunched leaves, and grass clippings around the home without explanation can help you start fighting back.  Hey neighbors, its with a heavy heart I let you all know that my mom (Lori) unexpectedly passed away the end of June. Our family has been taking the time between now and then to be together and remember what a light mom was. I came on towards the end of last year and was planning on fully moving my interviews and review to this website. I intend to to so partially to keep mommas beautiful website going. Thank you all so much for your love and support over the years. ~Mercy
