Potty Duck for Potty Training

Hi Neighbors!!

Here is a unique idea for the toddler who is starting to take an interest in potty training.  This cute little Potty Duck comes with his own little toilet.

The toilet has two suction cups that attach it to the side of a tub.  You then take the little duck and squeeze him under water so he will fill with water.  Allow your child to hold him over the toilet and squeeze him to squirt water into the potty.  They can then flush the toilet and it will flush out the bottom of the toilet.  Use the time playing with Potty Duck to teach your child words you will be using like: potty, toilet, whatever word you will use for pee.

What a unique teaching tool to show your child how to use a potty.  I was able to watch children at ChiTAG playing with the Potty Duck at their display and each one of them was having fun.

Little B took a bath and was playing with the Potty Duck.  T decided to show him how the Potty Duck works.  She kept squirting the water from the duck into the potty, and then flushing the potty.  B liked sticking his hands under the potty as it flushed.  He also enjoyed stealing the duck!!

From the Potty Duck website:

The idea for Potty Duck began when Fred's two-year-old daughter was playing with a squirt toy. She picked it up and squeezed it to send water shooting from its mouth. He noticed a few drops of water leaked from a second, smaller hole on the bottom of the toy. Fred made the hole a bit bigger, and that night they had a lot of fun making the squirt toy pee.
A few days later, his daughter stood up and said, “I want to go like [the squirt toy].” They hurried to the bathroom for one of her first successes!

You can purchase Potty Duck on their website for $19.95.  If you need to replace your duck you can for just $4.95.  Follow them on their social media.

Gramma In A Box

Hi Neighbors!!

No, it's not a new game.  Wait until you see this subscription box I just became aware of!!  It is called Gramma in a Box, and it is just like receiving a special gift box in the mail from Gramma each month!  Each month you will receive cookies with frosting and sprinkles to decorate, along with supplies to make 2 candy crafts.  Almost everything you need will arrive in the box, except for a few minor common items you should find in your kitchen.  You can easily do all three projects in a small amount of time, or you can spread the activities out over a day or two.

If you live close enough, you could get this each month and complete the activities together with your grandchildren.  If you live too far away to visit often, what a great idea for sharing in some fun.  Today, with all the technology available, you could even do a video call and enjoy the project time together!  This is also a perfect subscription box for moms who just don't have all the time to get creative, as everything is pretty much ready in this box that arrives at your front door, and rather than making 2 dozen cookies at a time to decorate, you can just complete a small project.  A subscription to Gramma in a Box would make a great gift idea!!

Just look what came in our box.

And wait until you see what we made!! All I needed to add to complete this kit were the bowls to melt the chocolate in and a spoon, knife, scissors to cut the tip of the icing bags and I used a straw.  Obviously, with younger children, mom will need to supervise, but I know my daughters at 10-12 years of age could have easily done this on their own.  Each activity comes with its own instruction card to walk you through each step.  I also like that on the back of each card is a list of the ingredients just in case your child is allergic to something.

So, we began with the first project, which was Hot Chocolate Treats.  You do need to microwave the melting chocolate discs in this, so this is where parental supervision is needed.  I am not going to give away all the steps, but these were very easy to make and my daughter loved her's with her hot cocoa later in the evening.

The second project was Holly Wreaths.  This project also required melting the chocolate discs in a microwave.  The only thing I changed in this one was, I used a straw to make the center hole instead of the suggested handle of the spoon or a butter knife.

Our third and final project was Winter Cookies!!  We received 2 trees, 2 gingerbread people (we made one girl and one boy), and 4 snowflakes!!  The hard work of baking was already done for us, so all we had to do was decorate the cookies with icing and sprinkles. One of the cookies disappeared right after being decorated because someone could not wait to try one.

Our Gingerbread people were having a snowball fight.

I am so glad we discovered Gramma in a Box!!  Everything was ready to complete the projects other than a few kitchen supplies.

We really enjoyed completing the projects included in the Gramma in a Box.  I really believe this is special way to show your love to your grandchildren.  Each month they can receive a box of love from gramma!!

A Gramma in a Box subscription is basically $20 the first time.  If you sign up with a recurring debit or credit, your first month will be $10.  They also have a 3 month - $55, a 6 month - $110, or a 12 month - $220.  The box is shipped the first week of each month.

This is such a unique subscription gift box idea.  Now the best news is, one neighbor can win a 3 month subscription to Gramma in a Box (US only).  So go visit the Gramma in a Box website and follow them on their social media.  Then be sure to enter this giveaway!!

Big Fork for the Holidays

Hey neighbors!!

Big Fork has some really great products for gifts and stocking stuffers!!  Check out the collection of Jerky and Pork Sticks we received!  My husband LOVES the spicier ones.  There is one missing from the photo, because my husband decided to try the Original one.  He ate half and left the rest sitting on the coffee table in the living room and Paisley, our toy Aussie decided to eat it!

Next he tried the Maple and Pepper, which he also really liked.  Afterwards he tried some of the Jerky.  He likes the flavor of the Jerky, but said he personally prefers the Pork Sitcks.  My son on the other hand is a huge Jerky fan, pretty much no matter what the flavor is.  Big Fork supports small independent Iowa farmers, and no antibiotics were given to these hogs.  You are eating some of the best tasting pork possible.

The Jerky is presently available in three flavors.  You can choose from Original, Maple, or Spicy 3-Pepper.  These make great stocking stuffers, or you could put together a personalized gift basket and include some pork sticks or jerky from Big Fork.

Be sure to check out the Jerky Challenge on their page.  I have a feeling my husband would try this one.

Update on the Holiday Gift Guide Giveaway!

Hey neighbors!!

First of all, if you are not aware, we have approx. 5-6 giveaways going on presently in our 2018 Holiday Gift Guide.  Please be sure to be reading reviews, as we are not labeling them as giveaways!!

Also, we have been having an extremely hectic time here.  Not only did we go out of town to attend ChiTAG, the Chicago Toy and Game Fair, but our roof has been leaking in at least three different rooms, from several different spots.  On top of that, we have heard critters in our roof, and seen the damage they have done to our garbage.  We set up a humane trap, and thus far have captured two raccoons and one opossum.  We re-release them in the wild a decent distance from home.

Then our friend who came to repair the leaks, said that the aimals in the roof, have been causing more damage as they dig their way in and out.  So, he repaired the leaks, sealed the holes and left on Wednesday.  Wednesday evening, we heard another animal in the roof.  So, we have set the traps up again and are hoping we are the winners in the end.

So, I said all that to say, I am sorry we have not added anything new to the Holiday Gft Guide box giveaway.  And today I am adding a box of Herbal Tea, 25 tea bags and an apron from Flirty Aprons. So be sure to go to the original post, HERE and enter.

Then take a moment and make sure you have entered the other giveaways for an Eat Smart Scale, Milk + Sass Macaron Hairbrush, Brain Blox Set, and the Beloved Devotional.

Thanks for stopping by!! See you all soon!

Baby Paper

Hey neighbors!!

Here's a cute little gift for babies and toddlers.  I found Baby Paper at ChiTAG this year.  It is a good sensory toy for infants and toddlers.  I received a square, the outside is a soft material, the inside makes a crinkling noise like crunching paper.  The nice thing is this does not tear and can be washed if it becomes dirty.

Not only does Baby Paper have these squares, they also have Crinkle Cuddlers, Fidgety Paper for older children, Rally Paper (based on teams), and Custom Paper, where you can choose a pattern.

Where can you purchase Baby Paper products?  Many retailers carry them in their store, but there are several shops that sell them online.  Check out their page that lists retailers.

Be sure to follow them on their social media.

Shirts That Go for Christmas

Hi Neighbors!

Ok, I have to say that Shirts That Go have some of the most adorable vehicle inspired shirts for little boys!  I just had to choose the police car and helicopter for the little guy since his daddy is a MP in the Military Reserves, and is applying to become part of a local police force.

Look how cute he looks in this raglan shirt from Shorts That Go!!

He is just one year old and we chose the size 2 raglan, and it fits pretty good,  He has some room to grow and with how this little one grows that is good.

Shirts That Go have Raglans, T-shirts, long sleeve T-shirts and Towels.  They have so many choices of vehicles on the shirts, from fire trucks and planes to police cars and trains.  I really love some of the steam trains!!  You can find the shirts on their website, or order direct from the Shirts That Go on Amazon.

I would LOVE for all of you to visit their website and then come back and leave a comment telling me what your favorite design is.  Then take a moment to follow Shirts That Go on their social media.
