Meet Tip! He is our newest canine addition. He is a Pomeranian/Eskimo mix. He is simply adorable. He is very active and loves other better than to be in someone's lap...licking their face. He also enjoys a fun game of fetch. Throw a ball or one of his toys and he takes off after it and then races back and drops it at your feet. At least he usually does until he gets distracted by something else.
We had him in the back yard the other day and decided to fill one of the puppy pools. Mercy had just started filling it and he leaped right in! No hesitation around water. He jumped around splashing and then decided to lay down in the pool and cool off. Next he decided to attack the hose. I have a small video clip below for you to see.
As you can see he really loved his time outside. He is one of those big dogs in a small body. I can't wait to share more of Tip's adventures with you. He is also going to be sharing all kinds of pet care products and tips with you in the coming months. Tips from Tip!
See you soon!

Here is another great homeschooling tool for your inspection. From NotebookingPages.com we have the Notebooking Pages Lifetime Membership. Whether you use notebooking in your homeschooling program a lot, or just occasionally NotebookingPages.com has just about everything you need.
This was the first time for M to try note-booking. We signed into the site after setting up our account, we slowly went through checking out the different pages that were available and of course clicking on anything that looked interesting. M really likes history! You can choose from totally blank pages with borders or designs, there are pages to color, and pages on specific subjects/people that have some pre-placed titles, pictures etc. There are also copywork pages, mini-books and 3-D (not sure about those as we did not try any). Some pages are lined, some have boxes your child can draw a picture in, others are set up like reports. We downloaded a few of the different choices to see what we liked best.
Now, I am going to say right here, note booking is just not for M and I, but do not in any way let that deter you from checking out NotebookingPages.com. I can easily see how this would be perfect for other children I know. It is just not my daughter's style. Remember, not every child learns in the same manner, which is one of the great benefits of homeschooling in that you can try different styles for different children.
So, on to what you can do with notebooking pages. Your child can do their study and have a beautiful notebook they have designed when they are done.
When you first visit the site, you might feel a little overwhelmed by all the materials available and wonder where you should begin, but don't despair, because they have a guide that will walk you through steps to get you started and on the right track. There are also other tutorials and videos that you can view as you go along to help you understand notebooking better.
If this is the type of projects/lessons you think you and your child would like to work on, you might want to consider the Notebooking Pages Lifetime Membership. For $97 you will receive lifetime access to ALL the material currently available and any new material that is released or produced. I am nearing the end of my homeschooling journey as my youngest is 16 and only has a little over a year left, but if I was just beginning my homeschooling journey or still had several young children this would be a GREAT investment. You can use as many as you like.
Be sure to visit their website and if notebooking sounds like a good fit for your family try their FREE Sampler. The sampler includes over 600 pages. Not a bad start!
Also take a moment to follow them on their social pages:

It doesn’t matter if you have had your furry friend for 10 minutes or 10 years, their health is paramount. A healthy dog is a happy dog, and this is your biggest responsibility as a dog owner. Quite frankly, if this aspect isn’t top of your agenda, you don’t deserve to own one in the first place.
Having your priorities in order is just the start, though. Taking care of a dog in a loving and effective manner requires many elements. Most owners will do the basics, but many will be missing out on the little gestures that make all the difference.
But going the extra mile for your pup will have a massive impact. Here are 11 items that should be on your checklist.
Protecting Their Feet On Walks
Regular exercise obviously plays a key role in a dog’s overall health and happiness. An inactive pup can become fat, depressed and suffer from worse conditioning. Different breeds have different needs, but twice daily isn’t an uncommon requirement.
Walks will work wonders for the physical and mental well-being of your pooch. However, you need to be sure that they’ve been protected. Many owners don't consider the dog’s paws, but they should. On hot days, you should check how hot the tarmac is. If it’s too hot for your hands, it’s too hot for their feet. Invest in dog booties or switch to grassy surfaces.
Fail to do this, and your dog could be left with very painful paws indeed.
Keeping Fur At The Right Length
Most owners will keep a dog’s fur clean. Aside from making life better for the pup, it will also go a long way to reducing bad odors and other negative influences. But cleanliness isn’t the only item to look out for.
It’s equally important that the dog’s hair is kept at a suitable length. Shorter hair doesn’t only help the dog stay cooler in hot months. But it can also prevent poor health caused by irritation. This can be especially true when dealing with Shih Tzus and other small breeds that might suffer from ear infections.
You should always want to take pride in your dog’s appearance anyway.
Protecting Their Joints
Nutrition is naturally a fundamental part of the dog’s overall health. As well as feeding the pooch in a manner that keeps them at a suitable weight, you’ll probably be keen to keep teeth in good health too. But if you think these are the only items to consider, you’re sorely mistaken.
Choosing the right foods and treats is important, both in terms of quality and quantity. However, supplementing their diets with the right additions is equally vital. Visit www.AllVetSupply.com for more information on the various products available. It could make all the difference to preventing long-term deterioration of joints, muscles, and bones.
The last thing you want is to see the dog in pain during later life. Take this precautions now, and your furry friend should be just fine.
Maintaining An Active Mind
When it comes to nutrition, food isn’t just a key factor for maintaining physical health. It can also be the secret weapon for maintaining the dog’s mental health too. As a loving owner, you must take full advantage of this opportunity.
There are various games that can be played to actively encourage your dog to work for food. This can have a telling impact on the development of their brains, especially in the early years. Moreover, if you’re a new owner, it’s a great way to promote a stronger connection with the pup too.
What more incentive could you ever need?
Protect Them During Activities
Dogs love being physically active, and you should promote it at every opportunity. As well as walks and games of fetch, they may also want to jump in the pool or sea for a swim. Quite frankly, if your dog is a water lover, it will be almost impossible to keep them out. The best thing you can do is protect them.
Like humans, the water can irritate ears and eyes. Doggles are a great way to protect the latter, and should be considered a must-have accessory for any dog that frequents the water. Meanwhile, there are various ear droplets available to help with that particular issue too.
Fail to do this, and they’ll soon stop completing those activities altogether.
Promoting Positive Pet Relationships
In many households, the dog is just one of several family pets. You might have various dogs. Or you may have cats or other pets. In either case, you need to ensure that every member of the family feels comfortable. And yes, the pets are members of the family.
The relationship between dog and cat is arguably the hardest to control. However, laying those positive foundations will soon generate the right response. Pets aren’t stupid. As long as you teach them from an early stage, they’ll soon understand the message. Learn more at www.petsit.com.
It’s not simply a case of preventing fights between your animals. It’s about ensuring that they all feel happy in their environment. Without those feelings, you’re failing them badly.
Building A Family Environment
Interactions with other pets are just the start, though. You also need to be sure that the dog feels comfortable around every member of the household. Even if a family member isn’t particularly fond of pets.
Perhaps the hardest challenge is teaching young children to treat the dog with care. Kids have the natural love and affection for pooches. Sadly, that can often result in them being too heavy handed. At the other end of the scale, some kids can be scared of pets. Dealing with those issues effectively is vital.
Dogs are smart and can pick up on those uneasy atmospheres. In turn, this can have a damning impact on their health. Likewise, it can impact the family member too.
Mixing The Adventures
The importance of dog walks and regular exercise have already been mentioned, but they cannot be emphasized enough. They really are the most crucial part of ensuring the pooch remains active and physically fit. However, they can also have a telling impact on the dog’s emotional health too.
To gain the very best results, you need to be sure that those adventures are being mixed up effectively. On one hand, dogs can grow attached to their favorite routes, especially as they’ll have planted their scent down. On the other hand, new adventures give them an unprecedented chance to explore new areas.
Apart from anything else, mixing it up can add a little extra enjoyment for you too. Meanwhile, you can also add new energy to the walks by doing some as a family and some individually. If nothing else, it’ll make getting those regular walks in a lot easier to complete.
Keeping The Dog Warm In Winter
Throughout the winter months, keeping your dog warm should be a priority. If you’ve maintained a healthy diet, then your pet won’t have excess layers of fat to stay warm. Therefore, you need to go the extra mile.
The cold months aren’t an excuse to stop taking regular walks. However, you may need to invest in a dog jumper to keep them happy and snug on those adventures. Meanwhile, you should ensure that dog beds are warm at night time. You can find the best solutions at www.wayfair.com.
If the dog is kept outside for any extended period, day or night, you should provide a sheltered area too. Cold, wet weather might not just make your furry friend ill. But it could also make you ill too.
Avoid New Additions
No, I don’t mean neutering your pet, although that is another thing to consider. Bringing a dog into your life is a big decision, and the pooch quickly becomes a part of the furniture. But let’s leave it at one addition, shall we?
Insects and parasites can bring awful damage to your pet's health, internally and externally. Tapeworms and similar issues can take a long time to spot and treat. As with human health, prevention is the best form of protection. You owe it to your dog to embrace the latest products for prevention.
Medicines and nutritional goods can help reduce internal threats. Meanwhile, regular combing of hair and frequent teeth cleaning are essential. You won’t only be protecting the dog. You’ll protect your entire family too.
Tracking Your Pet
There’s no doubt that the majority of pet owners give their dog the level of love and attention that they need. And these elements are the perfect foundation for keeping the dog healthy and happy. But that’s not the only crucial aspect to remember. They also need to be safe.
Technology has progressed at a rapid rate in recent years. Traditional dog collars remain an important accessory. However, there’s no question that tracking devices are the best option. The chances of your dog being stolen are slim, but having your bases covered will put your mind at ease.
The more likely scenario is that the dog will become lost. If this happens, checking the chip will help you find and rescue your furry friend immediately. The alternative just isn’t worth thinking about.

Summer has arrived, and many people are already dealing with high temperatures. A great deal of us can't survive the heat without air conditioning. We need it in our homes and offices, and to give us relief in stores when we're out shopping. If you haven't already ensured that yours is working, you need to check that it's going to survive the summer. As well as giving it a once-over before you start using it, you should check up on it throughout the season. Do your air conditioner maintenance yourself this year by following these essential air-con tips.
Replacing the Filter
The filter on your air conditioner keeps it running smoothly. It will ensure the air flowing through the air-con is clean, but only if you keep the filter itself clean. Cleaning or replacing the filter when needed is essential. If you don't do it, the air that passes through could have dust and dirt in it. Your system won't work as well if the filter is blocked. You might use filters that you can reuse, which you have to take out and clean. However, it's possible that you have to replace it instead. If you need to buy new filters, look for cheap air filters that are still good quality.
Your Air Conditioner Coils
The air conditioner's coils are another essential part of the system that keep it running efficiently. There is an evaporator coil and condenser coil, which both play a part in cooling the air in your home. Dust can build up on the coils, although it will happen less quickly if your filter is clean. You should clean both coils, especially if the condenser coil is outside. If you let them get dirty, the system will struggle to work as well. Try to clean them every year before using them.
Regular Maintenance Tasks
There are some other small tasks you can do to keep your air conditioner working properly. Make sure that the aluminium fins on you coils stay in the right place. They can bend, but you can easily move them back with a fin comb. You should also use a wire to clean the drain channels and unclog them. If you have window units, make sure that it is properly attached. The seal needs to be intact to prevent air escaping and wasting energy.
When to Call a Professional
You can do small maintenance tasks. However, you sometimes need a professional to take care of your air-con. If you need any repairs, you should call a contractor to come and fix the unit for you. They can check the refrigerant, make sure your unit is working safely, and ensure that everything is in good condition. If there's any way that your system could be improved, they can perform the maintenance to make it happen. You can find a contractor by asking for recommendations from friends and family.
Maintaining your air conditioning unit ensures that you can keep cool in the summer. Don't wait for something to go wrong and leave you without cool air.
Births, weddings, graduation: they’re all special occasions. But knowing what gifts to buy for the occasion can be supremely difficult. Here’s a list of great ideas to get you started.
Covered Nesting Bowls For Newly Weds
Newlyweds don’t often have all that much in the way of stuff. And there’s only so far they can get without their own crockery. The problem is that, like most newlyweds, they won’t have a lot of space. So what to get? One cool idea is to get them covered nesting bowls. These bowls are ideal for meals or taking dishes to dinner parties. And they also stack away neatly, in a small space.
Bath Soaps For New Mums
Giving birth and then learning all about the care of a new baby is a life-affirming experience, but it isn’t relaxing. But a long soak in the bath when mom has got a bit of spare time certainly is. Why not get the new mom in your life some bath soaps or essential oils to help her relax in the tub. Well, if she gets her five minute’s peace, that is.
Cash For Graduates
It’s no secret that university education costs an arm and a leg these days. When most graduates emerge from their degree program, they’re tens of thousands in debt. Often they don’t want gifts; they just want cash. Unless there’s something they desperately need, slip them an envelope with a nice, chunky wad of cash inside.
Mr. And Mrs. Chopping Boards For Newly Weds
What’s your image of domestic bliss? Usually, it’s when both husband and wife do the chores together. One way to represent this physically is to gift a custom Mr and Mrs chopping board. You can pick up theme chopping boards from retailers, like Paper Themes. With this chopping board in hand, you can remind both parties that they can get involved in the cooking.
Kindle For New Mums
What better way is there to relax than to get absorbed in a fantastic book. That’s why the Kindle is the perfect accessory for any new mom. Kindles are strong, light and can store more books than she could ever possibly read.
Bike For Graduates
Graduates need some kind of way to get around once they leave university. Perhaps right now they can’t afford a car. But they want to study masters or a Ph.D. next year. How are they going to get around without their own transport? On a bike, of course. Bikes are the reliable, go-to mode of transport for making those last minute errands and grabbing takeaways.
Casserole Dish For Newly Weds
When it comes to food, it’s easy for newlyweds to fall quickly into bad habits. Many couples often end up cooking only once or twice a week. Most of the time it’s because they feel like they don’t have enough time. A great solution to this problem is to get them a casserole dish. These really are the workhorse of the kitchen and an excellent way to throw together a simple meal in no time.

Ever heard about people who try to impress neighbors that they really don’t even like? Well here are a few ways to spruce up your home and life that just might make someone think you are trying to impress them. Try one or more of these ideas and it won’t be long until your neighbors wish they had your home instead of their own! Let’s get started.
Getting Creative With Water
The chances are that neither you or your neighbors currently have a swimming pool. Whether you feel a swimming pool would be an affordable option is something that’s up to you, but you don’t have to spend masses of money! Instead, you could create a DIY water park for your children to have fun with. It doesn’t take a lot to make something that can rival swimming pools in terms of the amount of fun they provide! Get creative and search for some feasible ideas that might work in your yard to give the children a way to cool off this summer.
Big, Expensive Vehicles
Ever seen two men try to out-do each other by buying different kinds of luxurious RV’s! I’m not saying you need to go out and buy one, but it certainly could give you a great way to spend the summer. You can even rent RVs now and believe me when I say camping in an RV is much more luxurious than tenting. Imagine if you can, heading out for a couple of weeks this summer and having everything you need right with you. You can cook your own food on a stove, sleep in the same bed every night and have many of the benefits of home.
A Patio Area
If you’ve got the time and money to put some real investment into your garden, a patio area can really improve it. Not only does this give you a nice space to sit and relax, but it improves the look of your garden massively. There are lots of things you can do to be creative with this, too. Personally, I love the added touch of a waterfall. It’s only a small addition, but it adds an element of relaxation and class to your backyard. You can do whatever you like with it, though. Think about your budget and the style you want to convey.
Create A Kids Play Area
This would make a great summer project! If you’re the sort of person that is able to get creative and hands-on, why not create a kids play area for them? From swings to slides and much more, you can do practically anything you want to do! Make sure that if you’re going to do this, you do so with the utmost care. It needs to be a safe place for kids to play in. Invite the neighbors kids around when it’s done and watch as they tell their parents how great your garden is!
Improve your home because you want to improve it and make it a better place to live! You and your family will enjoy adding one or more of these projects to your summer.
Summer is finally here! If you’re thinking about doing some DIY or updating your bathroom over summer vacation, here are some ideas. With bathroom makeovers, you don’t have to go crazy with designs or spend a fortune. Often, simple changes can make all the difference.
There are so many different angles you can opt for when it comes to planning your new bathroom. Do you want something ultra-modern and stylish? Do you over the quirky styles you see in boutique hotels? Are you a fan of a simple suite and clean, fresh shades? Do you adore the opulence of vintage themes? Does the nautical trend appeal to you?
If you’re thinking about redesigning your bathroom over the summer, look for inspiration online. It’s also a good idea to visit showrooms and flick through some interior magazines. You may also find that wandering around home stores gives you ideas for easy and affordable bathroom renovations.
The theme you go for may dictate the colors and shades you choose. For a modern bathroom, white, gray, beige and metallics are very popular. Blue and white are perfect for seaside and nautical themes. Pastel shades and printed wallpaper are the ideal accompaniment for traditional hardwood floors.
Planning a new layout and design
If you’re going all out with your makeover and you want to change the layout, ask some builders for quotes. You’ll also need to get in touch with a local plumber. You may want to add a bath or create a separate shower unit. Do you want to install a new sink or change your flooring?
Once you have a vision of what you want, it’s much easier to determine the amount of work involved. If you’re making changes that are purely cosmetic, your makeover should be complete within weeks. If you have more drastic changes in mind, it may take significantly longer.
Once you’ve chosen paint colors and selected your suite, turn your attention to the finishing touches. Toilet roll and toothbrush holders, rugs, and vases can pull the look together. You may also wish to add candles, LED lights, and a statement mirror to take your bathroom to the next level.
Storage is an important consideration for many of us in the bathroom. If you don’t want towels or bottles lying around, invest in some smart storage solutions. Go for metallic units and glass shelves for a contemporary bathroom. Or opt for a rustic vanity unit for a chic Parisian vibe.
If your bathroom is looking a little drab or tired, it may be time to think about adding some color or switching up the design. You can spend as much or as little as you want. Paint the walls and add some accessories for a simple, affordable makeover. Or upgrade the suite, change the layout and go for a completely new theme. Take inspiration from showrooms and magazines. Don't be afraid to mix and match trends and pay attention to the detail. Often, the finishing touches can make all the difference.
