High and Low Calendar for the New Year

Hi Neighbors!

This is a sponsored review with Mums the Word Blogger Network and Blickenstaff's. All opinions are my own.

Here is a great way to start off your New Year.  It s a High & Low Calendar from Bickenstaff's.  You can use this calendar each evening at dinner time.  You could also use it with friends or co-workers.  It will help spark conversation as well as be a wonderful way to look back on your year.

You can do this before dinner, or if easier do it at the end of the meal before everyone gets up.  Each person can list a high and a low of their day.  Whether it was a low score in school, getting caught in traffic on the way home or saying something you regret.  Your high might be a compliment someone gave you, a good grade, or meeting a friend you haven't seen in awhile.  At the bottom of the page you list what you had to eat.

There is also a question on the back of the page for each person to answer.  For example:
1. If your life was recorded in a history book, what would you want it to say?
2. What are your favorite family traditions? Why?
3. What is your favorite book?  Why?
As you can see this questions will spark some discussion.  It will be interesting to see each person's response.

At the end of the year you can take time to go through the calendar and hit some highlights.  You can then store it for future reviewing.

You can purchase the High & Low Calendar at Bickenstaff's.  Thank you for stopping in.  See you soon!

JoySprouts Preschool App

Hey Neighbors!

Here is a really cute app for your preschooler.  It is called JoySprouts.  Designed for children ages 5 and under, JoySprouts allows your child to explore and learn while having fun with this preschool app.

In one of the options I was able to try, your child helps Garfield piece together a puzzle to find Pooky.  Your child solves a few problems and receives a puzzle piece as a reward.  By earning all the puzzle pieces they will help Garfield discover where Pooky is.  They will match colors, patterns and shapes as they work on the clues.  Rewarding a puzzle piece encourages your child to keep learning.

Another game they are able to play is "That's My Job", also starring Garfield.  In this option they choose a costume for Garfield and then have to match the right tools for the costume.  If he is a musician, they would choose the musical instruments, as an athlete, they would choose the sports equipment.

Also included was My dad.  In this one they will be following instructions and finding certain items.  They will need to locate his fireman's hat, boots, gloves and other items.

JoySprouts will help:
- Cognition and General Knowledge (Math, Science, and Social studies)
- Language and Literacy
- Learning Approaches
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development and Health

You can sign up more than one child to play, and the app will each keep track of them individually.  JoySprouts will teach your child through play.  Characters are cute and entertaining.  If you have preschool children JoySprouts is worth checking in to!

Thank you for stopping in today!  See you soon!

Check Out These Apps For Preschoolers!

Hi Neighbors!

prekkindergarten

Just had the opportunity to sample the Bingo ABC Alphabet Phonics.  A cute, yet simple and fun app for pre-schoolers.  I like that you can click on other objects.  There is also the ability to use the Karaoke option.

UPDATE: They have added some new stories to this one that I did not see before. Graphics will hold your chid’s attention .  You can read the stories, or have them read aloud to your child through the app.  I did see a few words that I do not think a preschooler will understand.

montessori

This is an updated app that is great for preschoolers to learn with.  Although some preschoolers may not be ready for word rhyming, they will enjoy the learning to form letters, along with the fun characters this app has to offer.  They will eventually work into writing words. The maze portion will also teach them coordination as they trace the paths.

2014 Holiday Gift Guide Event/WorkIt Wednesday : THERA°PEARL’s Sports Pack

Hey Neighbors!

One last product for our Holiday Gift Guide for now!  :D  Whew!  I think we might possibly have all of them done on time.  This last product is great for anybody that does some sort of sports, goes to the gym a lot, works out, etc.  Introducing...

THERA°PEARL sent me their Sports Pack for review. This is truly a wonderful product... there have been so many times that somebody has had sore/aching muscles, a rash, etc. that we have pulled out an icepack (usually homemade with a zippie of ice and a hand towel :D).  Remember all of those times when the zippie would pop open and water would come pouring out, or the perspiration of the ice would soak whatever you're on, etc.?  Not with THERA°PEARL!

Taken from the THERA°PEARL website.
"The price of perfection is high, whether you pay at the gym or the spa. THERA°PEARL’s Sports Pack rescues men and women from post-workout and post-treatment aches, pains, swelling and redness. Compact and portable, the Doctor Designed Sports Pack is soft and pliable to adhere comfortably to your body. Drip and mess-free, it beats a melting ice pack or soggy hot towel any day! It’s hypoallergenic, non-toxic and, best of all, reusable. For durability, cost and effectiveness, disposables can’t match THERA°PEARL’s value. Chill it in the fridge or freezer for analgesic cold, or pop it in the microwave for penetrating heat. The pack holds its therapeutic temperature for a full 20 minutes so you get fast, soothing relief. It’s perfect following any strenuous activity or accidental run-in with a table leg."

This sports pack has been great for after TaeKwonDo classes when we come home with bruises (yep, it happens pretty often!  Especially after sparring!), aching muscles, pulled something while playing racquetball or running, putting on a rash that just won't stop itching, or just to relax!  The pearls are so comfortable compared to a frozen solid icepack, or even ice cubes in a towel.  It can conform to just about any shape, and feels great!

So, this truly would make an awesome gift for someone!  If you're ready to make your purchase, head on over to the THERA°PEARL website.  You can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their latest news.

WorkIt Wednesday - IdealShape Update #2

Hey Neighbors!

How is everyone doing this morning?  We are doing great!  We have been super busy around here recently, but  I just wanted to take a couple of minutes and update you on my journey to my IdealShape!

I have now lost between 15-20 lbs (yay!), 4 inches on the waist, and visible losses in other areas.  My three sisters and myself bought matching bracelets on a vacation trip this year (the end of Sep.), and it is getting very loose around my wrist.  Woot woot!  :D  I really don't like having my bracelet that loose, but I do love that it shows progress.  I have had several people tell me that they could tell that I had lost weight, and my clothes feel much looser.

Before and Now!  See all that room?!?

So, what is your IdealShape?  Whatever it is I am sure that IdealShape will be able to help you... I mean, look at their mission!  "At IdealShape our mission is: “To be the simplest and easiest weight loss solution, and to help one million people to achieve their ideal shape.” We help our customers lose weight by controlling their hunger with affordable delicious products to regain their confidence and self esteem to live their ideal life."  My IdealShape Goal (as of right now), is to reach 148lbs (I will then be in the estimated "healthy" weight for my age and height).

This year, why don't you give yourself (or somebody else) the gift of health, fitness, weight loss, and all of the other benefits that will follow!  You can purchase any of the items I received (meal replacement shakes and bars, supplements, shakers, etc.), plus so much more on the IdealShape website.

2014 Holiday Gift Guide : Aurora Review!

Hey Neighbors!

How is everyone doing this morning?  We are doing pretty good. We recently bought Trixie some new toys, and she has been playing with them non-stop!  Speaking of toys, does your child like stuffed animals?  If so, you will have to check these out!  Introducing...

Aurora sent me several items to include in our Holiday Gift Guide that, I assure you, would make great gifts!  The first item I will be reviewing is the Chocolate Lab and the Angora Kitten from Miyoni's Unlikely Friends Collection. This stuffed animal is actually two animals!  It is a cat and a dog... Kissing!  :D What's funny is that Pansy (my Sheltie), and Trixie (our Himalayan), are seriously best friends. They sleep together, eat/drink each other's food/water, eat each other's treats, play with each other's toys, etc.

"With interspecies devotion, unlikely animals come together in warming displays of these Miyoni Unlikely Friends."

The second item is the My Jungle Friends from Aurora's Baby Talk Line. This is a little tree trunk (the carrier with a handle!) that has several different jungle animals in it that the baby can pull out and play with. Some of them squeak, some of them rattle, some of them , etc.

We gave this to C. (his daddy and mommy are dear friends of ours, and C. is sooo adorable!), and he loves it!  Him and his daddy both like noisy toys (since his dad said he would just keep the toy for himself :D), so the squeaking and rattling animals were a plus.

The last item I received is the WINKS from the Aurora Taddle Toes Collection.  He is sooooo adorable (can you tell he is my favorite?!?:D)!  The oversized feet are what make this collection what it is.  All of the products I received have these soft (oh, so soft!) bodies, and seriously cute faces.  Check him out!

Okay, don't you want him?!?  If so, you can purchase him (and the other products I received, and so much more), on the Aurora Website.  You can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their latest news and products.

2014 Holiday Gift Guide - KidKraft Review!

Hello Neighbors!

KidKraft

How is everyone doing today?  We are doing great!  I believe we have a few last items that we are trying to post today and tomorrow, and then we will probably take a breather for a little bit.  KidKraft kindly sent me a Step 'N Store in Pink from their furniture and decor section as part of our Holiday Gift Guide.  Check it out!

Step 'N Store - Pink

Here is a little bit about KidKraft : "KidKraft is a proven leader in the world of wooden toys and furniture, with over 40 years of experience. KidKraft specializes in toys that are inventive, interactive and educational. Play kitchens, dollhouses, doll furniture and train sets are just some of the many items that KidKraft is recognized for throughout the world. KidKraft also makes children’s furniture items such as chairs, tables, train tables, vanities and beds. In fact, if it goes in your young boy or girl’s bedroom, there’s a good chance KidKraft makes it! Everything KidKraft sells is designed by a team of dedicated engineers who focus on making each product as safe and sturdy as possible. This means that everything from the company’s large outdoor playhouses to its small step stools will last for years and years and can be even passed on from one generation to the next."

I have to tell you that both my little sister and myself have beds that are actually quite high off of the ground.  We have to either try and jump up and pull ourselves unto the beds, or use an ottoman/step stool of some sort.  When I got the chance to review this we were so excited.  We chose the Pink (to fit in with her girly room, and M + M (our initials).

She LOVED it!  Once it arrived I pulled it out of the box and started building it.  Overall, the step 'N Store was very easy to build.  Of course our instructions got mislaid, but we were able to search online and find a PDF of them.

This is a really great Step 'N Store.  As the name sounds, there is a storage space beneath the top step (perfect for coloring books, games, etc.).  The color options allow you to choose something that will co-ordinate with other furniture in your room, while the personalization adds that personal touch that everybody loves.

So, this would make a great gift!  If you are interested in purchasing this (or anything else from KidKraft), visit their website.  You can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their latest news.

I received no monetary compensation for this review.  I did receive one product for review purposes only.  All thoughts and opinions are mine.  All text in red is taken from the sponsor's website.

Pet House Candle #Gift Idea

Hey Neighbors!

Here is a super smelling candle!  We chose the Pumpkin Spice scented Pet House Candle.  It smells sooooo good! Designed for pet loving homes, the Pet House candle helps freshen your home and neutralizes odors.  As a pet owner, I believe some of us do not realize that pets can leave an odor in the home, even if it is ever so faint.  Non-pet people often pick up on these odors.

One Fur All has these Pet House Candles that will help you with this.  They presently have three fragrances available.  You can choose from: Pumpkin Spice, Fresh Citrus, or Lavender Green Tea.  The candles are 100% soy wax and are made in the USA.  Each fragrance is formulated with an odor neutralizer and infused with their blend of natural essential oils.  These hand-poured candles are dye free and burn for approximately 70 hours.

The Pet House Candles are available for $19.95.  You can purchase them on the One Fur All website, or check their locator for a store near you.  One Fur All supports non-profit rescue organizations.  Be sure to follow One Fur All on their social media.

Even if you don't own a pet, you just might want to try their pet candles anyway.  They smell great and you will be helping them support some rescues.

Thank you for taking time to visit.  See you soon!

Sugar Drop Cookies

Hello Neighbors!

We have been doing a LOT of baking recently, and today I want to share a recipe that I really like! :D  First I got everything out that I needed, turned some music on to listen to while working, and started putting everything together. First preheat oven to 375.   Here is what you'll need:

2 1/2 cups of flour
1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 cup Sugar
3/4 cup oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla

In a bowl mix: 2 1/2 c. of flour, 1 1/2 tspn of baking powder, 3/4 tspn of salt and one 1 tspn of cinnamon.
Then in a different bowl mix: 1 cup of sugar and 3/4 c. of oil.
Then in one other bowl mix: 2 eggs and 1 tspn of vanilla extract.  Then add eggs and vanilla into sugar and oil mixture and mix.  Next pour the flour mixture in and stir.  Spray cookie pan lightly with baking spray.  In a bowl put a small amount of sugar, roll the dough up into little balls and drop them in the sugar.  Roll them around to lightly coat with sugar, then put them on the pan!  Bake 8 to 10 minutes.  Yum!

                                                        They look so yummy! :D

Waiting for them to get done!

Here they are after they were done baking!

I hope you all enjoyed the recipe!   See you At The Fence!

Trixie has Grown!

Hey neighbors!

It has been awhile since I could sit down and write a personal post.  We have been so busy with products for the Holiday Gift Guide.  I hope you have enjoyed the reviews and giveaways.  We already ave more products lined up.  We have a couple more to share before the holidays and then we will take a small break.  I am sure we will still post, but we are actually going to take a breather.  Be sure to stop in still to see what is happening and to do your daily tweets on giveaways.

Watching her shadow.
She crawled in here by herself and kept popping out to attack anyone going by.

Peek-a-boo!

She decided the girl's purses hanging up made a nice bed!
Now to our subject in the title.  Trixie has grown so much!  She is one of the sweetest kittens I have ever had.  Many cats do not like attention, but she loves to be held and cuddled.  She has the loudest purr too!

She might want to visit Paris!

I have shared some pictures on Facebook if you follow me there you have seen them.  She finds odd places to sleep and unique items to play with.  Personally I think she is one of the prettiest cats too!  Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend!

See you soon!
