Waterproof Bible by Bardin Marsee #GiftIdea

Hi Neighbors!

Here is a #GiftIdea to get excited about!  Bardin Marsee Publishing produces the Waterproof Bible.  My husband thinks this is one of the greatest types of Bible available.  He does quite a bit of street ministry and he can take this anywhere!

The Waterproof Bible is perfect for camping, hiking, mission trips, around the pool, anywhere your Bible might possibly get wet, dirty or have something spilt on it.  Each page is waterproof, so if you should spill anything on it, you can wipe it right off with a damp cloth or paper towel.  Dropped your Bible  in the mud or snow?  It is easy to clean if you are carrying a Bardin Marsee Waterproof Bible.  A Bible like this would make a great gift for a pastor, youth pastor, missionary or even a member of the military.
Dropped dirt cake on a page.

The Waterproof Bible also floats!  So, if you go near water, perhaps in a boat or poolside and your Bible drops, instead of being ruined forever, it will float and you can dry it out.  I will say here, that if it gets soaked completely through, it will take a little more effort to dry it off, as you will have to dry each page, but at least you will not have to replace it.

Wiping it off, some smeared.

A little about Bardin Marsee:
The Waterproof Bible and THE OUTDOOR BIBLE originate from our desire to take God's word into all of His creation, regardless of the weather or circumstances. That is why they are completely waterproof, dry quickly, are much stronger than paper, are usable with writing utensils (ball point pen, pencil, or dry highlighter), and adapt well to all extremes or reading environments (on a rainy campout, in a coffee shop, even in a hot tub!). Just as a frog lives on land and in water, the Waterproof Bible and THE OUTDOOR BIBLE thrive in any situation or climate.

All gone!

Now, the Waterproof Bible is available in New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs ($24.95) or you can get the entire Bible ($44.95).  They also carry some accessories that are new since the last time I wrote about their Bibles.  They actually have waterproof Bible covers and journals!  I am thinking one of the journals would be great to have.

Wiped it down with a damp cloth.
I highly recommend these Bibles.  I take mine on trips because I know it will hold up to the test.  Yes, I have had to wipe things off of mine.  I also like how strong the pages are.  Have you ever been reading in a car, or anywhere else for that matter, and had a page rip or tear?  It is not impossible to tear these pages, but you would really have to be trying.

Please watch a previous video I made with my Waterproof Bible.

So, be sure to add a Waterproof Bible from Bardin Marsee to your gift list this year.  Then head over and visit their site.  Take a moment to follow them on their social media, so you will know when they are running specials.

Now, the very best news is, Bardin and Marsee has agreed to send the winner of this giveaway a Waterproof Bible.  So, hurry up and enter and then share with your friends.

EatSmart Precision Pro Thermometer #GiftIdea #HolidayGiftGuide

Here's a great gift or even stocking stuffer idea for the chef in your life this holiday season! EatSmart sent us the Precision Pro Instant Read Food Thermometer for our holiday gift guide, and it is amazing!

We decided to try out our new thermometer while making our Thanksgiving dinner. It has never been so easy to make sure the turkey is cooked through! I had it in the oven for about 4-1/2 hours when we first used the thermometer. Sure enough, it gave us the internal temp of the bird within a second, and let us know it was indeed done. I love the LCD screen; it is so easy to read, and even has a backlight (simply push the power button quickly) so you don't need to struggle and squint to see what it says. You can also set your thermometer to read in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, whichever you prefer.

The thermometer also came in handy with our ham. A friend had brought over some pre-cooked hams that just needed heated, and after about an hour, the outside looked nice and hot, ready to eat. Just to check I used my handy Precision Pro Thermometer, and discovered that the inside of the ham was only 32 degrees! Yep, back in the oven the ham went! I'm just glad I was able to check, instead of serving some freezing cold ham with our Thanksgiving dinner!

So, if there's a chef on your shopping list this holiday season, be sure to check out EatSmart's Precision Pro Thermometer-it's sure to please!!  You can purchase the EatSmart Thermometer on Amazon.

Speck iPad Mini Case #GiftIdea

Hi neighbors!

I really like this new case I received from Speck!  I have needed a good case for quite some time.  I was using a extra case that I was given, but it did not close properly and kept popping open.  I am so enjoying having a case that stays closed!

Ok, that is not all that I like about a Speck case for my iPad Mini.  I have the DuraFolio.  I like the protection it gives, while still maintaining a slender, light-weight cover.  It gives a majority of protection without being making my Mini oversized.  It still fits easily in my carrying bag.  This is a military grade protective cover.  Now, I am not going to intentionally drop my iPad Mini, but let me share with you some information on the Speck site:
As the above material makes clear, Speck has tested a number of its cases and determined that the identified cases meet or exceed certain standards often used by the military to determine effectiveness of protection. To be clear, this does not mean that your devices will never break. If you drop them hard enough, or from high enough, or at just the wrong angle, your device may still be damaged. And if you happen to drop your device into a river of molten lava, Speck case or no Speck case, let it go. Cause it’s gone.

Another feature I like is the ability to adjust the way my iPad sits, or maybe I mean stands.  The cover folds back at an adjustable angle.  There are several grooves you can rest the iPad on so you can place it at the angle that best suits your needs.

I also like the magnetic cover.  It activates the sleep /wake function.  My last case did not close properly, nor did it have the magnetic cover, so it would often stay on even after the cover was closed.

Speck has protective cases for a variety of handheld, electronic devices, from phones to tablets.  If you are looking for a new case or cover, stop by their website to see what they have available.  Be sure to follow them on their social media:

Protect Your Device With DesignSkinz!! #HolidayGiftGuide

How would you like to be able to give your tech device some style? Without having that nasty sticker residue left behind when you decide to change the look out? Let me introduce you to Design Skinz, a company that offers you just that option.

Design Skinz offers "skins" for just about every device you can imagine. I received the Neon Green Stars Outside/Inside for MacBook Air for review, and I was so thrilled with the product. First of all, you have to understand that this is way more than just a decorative sticker. It actually adds some protection from dings and scratches, and really helps in the trackpad area, where it's common to have issues from the oils on your skin. And, it's easy to apply. I mean very easy! It literally took me all of 5 minutes to get the skin applied to the outside, inside, and trackpad areas of my Mac. I got the outside piece about halfway on, and realized it wasn't aligned properly-no problem though, simply pull it off and start over! There's no sticky residue, it doesn't mean you can't use the skin, just peel it off and adjust.

Design Skinz has a skin for just about any device, and also for just about any taste or style. For example, there are 38 pages of skin designs for the MacBook Air 13"! No matter who you're shopping for this holiday season, you can find a skin to match their device and style at Design Skinz! Who wouldn't love adding a touch of style to their iPhone or Samsung Galaxy this Christmas?!

WorkIt Wednesday : FlipBelt Review!

Hello Neighbors!

How is everyone doing this morning?  I am doing great!  We have set up and put into use a new schedule, so I wanted to get this written up and published this morning.  I will also be getting up a half hour earlier, to get in a morning run with my FlipBelt.

FlipBelt.com

Not sure what a FlipBelt is?  Here is some information taken from their website... "Gone are the days of baggy sweat pants with bulky pockets. Active wear is sleeker and more stylish than ever before. The only problem is there’s nowhere to hold your phone, music and keys. That’s where FlipBelt comes in. Who would have thought a singular tubular waistband could solve one of the biggest nuisances that athletes face—where to tuck must-have items while exercising.  Every bit as flattering and contoured as the rest of today’s athletic wear, FlipBelt is designed to carry your on-the-go essentials without tying up your hands. Made of a moisture-wicking, spandex-lycra blend, FlipBelt slides right on and sits snug on your hip. No bulk. No bounce. FlipBelt is also machine washable and machine dryable.  To keep items secure, all you have to do is flip the belt inward. Now, everything you need while exercising fits right around your waist."

Sounds great, right?!?!  I know it has worked great for me.  Want to bring an iPod/MP3 Player on your next run?  FlipBelt is the answer!  How about a phone?  Yep, that too!  Do you drive to the park to run, and don't have anywhere for your keys?  Yep, FlipBelt still has you covered!

This is so much easier to use than carrying things in your hands while running, or clipping them to your waist.  It's to easy to drop things, and I hate when things get all shook up!  I used this several times for training, but my younger sister decided that she should use it at the race.  I also really liked the feature of the clip that you can clip your keys on.  The belt is stretchy so you can fit sooooo many things in there.  Cash, cards, protein bars, iPod/iPhone, timer, keys, etc.

So, you can purchase this (in many styles/colors) on the FlipBelt website.  You can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their latest news.

I received no monetary compensation for this review post.  I did receive product for review purposes only.  All thoughts and opinions are mine.  All text in red is taken from the sponsor's website.

WorkIt Wednesday - IdealShape Update 1!

Hello Neighbors!

Today I want to tell you about a wonderful company called IdealShape!  If you feel like you have tried all sorts of dieting plans, lost weight and put it back on, etc., keep reading!

I will be sharing my story a little further down, but first I wanted to let you know about IdealShape.  Here is a little bit about IdealShape and how they can help YOU find your Ideal Shape!  "Our program isn't a diet, it's a healthy way to live the rest of your life…Give us 28 days and we'll show you how changing just ONE habit will help transform your life.  Most people take on too much when trying to lose weight, get overwhelmed, then quit. Others lose weight, but don't keep it off because they haven't created sustainable habits for healthy living.  We'll show you how to focus on one habit at a time using a complete weight loss system that incorporates healthy eating, hunger control, exercise, and a community to support you in achieving your ideal shape."

IdealShape sent me 1 Tub of Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake, 1 Chocolate Peanut Butter Meal Replacement Bar, 1 ResveraShape Supplement, and 1 IdealShape Shaker Bottle along with the free eBooks included with any purchase.

The first couple days of doing the IdealShape plan, I used the recommended half a scoop of the shake mix (this is because some people are not used to such large amounts of protein in their system).  I really have never been much of a breakfast eater (and yes, I know I should eat a bigger breakfast!), so drinking a shake instead of eating something wasn't that big of a change for me, although I see how it could be for some people.

Yesterday for the first time I had two meal replacement shakes in one day.  I replaced breakfast with a shake (like I usually do), and I replaced dinner with a shake.  I wasn't sure if I would still feel hungry, but it really wasn't bad.  I had a small snack afterwards, and I was fine!  I know I haven't mentioned a whole lot about the other products, but I'll be back next week with another update.

Since starting this program/plan I have lost almost 10 lbs., and about 3-4 inches on my waist.  Now, I do a lot of exercise (TKD Classes three times a week, running a couple times a week, racquetball once or twice a week, along with other physical activities), but I know that a lot of it is replacing meals and getting more protein.  I am quite happy with the results (I know that I could have lost more, but I have had a couple "bad" days, and on the trip to Chicago I was off quite a bit), and looking forward to the rest of the program and my journey to find my IdealShape!

Before!
Now!  Sorry about the hair!  :)

I received no monetary compensation for this review post.  I did receive products for review purposes only.  All thoughts and opinions are mine.  All text in red is taken from the sponsor's website.

Gildan for Socks and Such! #GiftIdea

Hey neighbors!

Here's another really good #GiftIdea!  Who doesn't need socks or underclothing?  Gildan has both!  I received some super nice ladies ankle socks, a package of men's Crew socks, a ladies T-shirt and some ladies hi-cut underwear.

I personally do not wear ankle socks out like my daughters do, but I love them around the house to keep my feet warm!  I also like that they have pink on the heel and toes because that means my sons and my husband will not wear them. LOL!  These socks are quite comfortable.

My daughter claimed the t-shirt.  She looks pretty good in it!  It is nice and soft.  The color is nice too. :)  This is a v-neck t-shirt with a taped neck and shoulders for better durability.

The ladies hi-cut underwear are pretty nice too.  I like that the elastic in the leg are encased.  Some people react to the exposed elastic and this helps prevent that.  The cute lacy elastic around the waistband is a nice, feminine touch.

The men's Crew socks are the last on my list.  I know my son is going to enjoy them.  Both "boys", they are 19 and 21, go through socks continually.  They are always searching for socks.  Of course if they put both of them in the laundry together they might actually get more pairs of socks back.

Any of these products from Gildan would make a great gift or addition to a gift.  Perhaps you could buy a new pair of jeans and throw in some socks.  Maybe you could give a t-shirt and some socks, all from Gildan.

Thanks for stopping in today!  See you soon!

Monkeying Around Dot to Dot Books Fun #GiftIdea

Hey neighbors!

Here is a fun gift idea for all ages.  Monkeying Around makes the most spectacular Dot to Dot books I have ever seen.  I am not talking your average run of the mill dot to dots, but some truly amazing dot to dots.

The easiest are probably the original The Greatest Dot to Dot Books (#1 - #4).   To me they seem to start out easy and slowly increase in difficulty.  Next up would be the Super Challenge Books (#5 - #8).  Then you have the Adventure Dot Books #1 and #2, these two are simply amazing to me.  I am always surprised by the detail in these dot to dot books!  They also carry smaller, Mini Travel Newspaper Books (#1 - #8).  I have not tried any of these, but I am sure the quality is the same as their other books.

Monkeying Around has just released their newest book the Adventure Dot Books #2, and I was given the opportunity to review it!  It just came in Monday and I have already jumped in and started some of the Dot to Dots.  As I stated earlier, these are not just simple dot to dots.  Many of these are quite intricate.  You need to pay attention and of course read the directions.  Some of them you go from dot to dot in numerical order stopping when you come to a star and then starting at the next number.  It doesn't sound too difficult until you realize we are talking about dot to dots that number 400 and more dots!  It is so much fun!  We brought ours on our trip with us to Chicago.  The only problem in doing dot to dots in the vehicle is you have to be on a reasonably smooth road!

Some of the puzzles are a little different.  You have some that each dot has a word beside it and you need to connect the dots in alphabetical order.   Others are stars, circuits, crazy, symbols, etc.  Each page describes the puzzle and how to complete it.

Here are a couple of recommendations I have regarding the Monkeying Around Dot to Dot books: 1. Use a sharp pencil.  2. Have a small ruler on hand for those long lines.  Sometimes it is difficult to draw a straight line that is half a page long.  3. Purchase more than one so everyone can play at the same time.  Our first couple books we actually had to take turns sharing! Now we have enough that everyone can work in one at the same time.

I really believe these would make a GREAT gift for anyone who can count and follow instructions.  Make sure to add a couple to your gift buying!  You could also use colored pencils or perhaps crayons and color in your dot to dot picture.  They would look nice in a frame!

Monkeying Around is going to send one Adventure Dot to Dot set to a winner, and they are also going to send a set of the Greatest Dot to Dot books to another winner.
