Stuck on You Review!

Hello Neighbors!

How is everyone doing this afternoon?  Remember when I posted about Stuck on You helping with your Back to School shopping!  Well, our personalized sports bag arrived just in time for M's first TaeKwonDo Tournament!  Here is a picture of her new sports bag...

Doesn't this look nice?!?  The printing came out clear and colorful!  After getting everything ready, we started to pack the bag.  First, we put her martial arts shoes in the convenient shoe pocket that is included.  Great!  No more shoe marks on her white Gi top!

We used the large part for her change of clothes for after the tournament, and her sparring gear (head, hands, feet, etc.).  Everything fit nicely.

There are a couple of small pockets on the front also.  We used one for her mouth guard (yes, it is in a case :), band-aids, etc.  All of them end up with blisters!

For the second small pocket on the front we placed in things like a comb, a few extra hair elastics, etc.

There is a nice padded shoulder strap, and the two handles can be veclro-ed together for easier carrying.

Stuck on You is PERFECT when shopping for personalized kids bags, labels, stationary, puzzles, etc.  These would make GREAT gifts for Back to School, birthdays, holidays, etc.  You can also Like Stuck on You on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their latest news and products.

You can read my original post HERE to learn more about the designing process.

I received no monetary compensation for the review/giveaway.  I did receive product for review purposes only.  All thoughts and opinions are mine.

Gorton's Wicked Good Seafood!

Hi neighbors!

I first heard the phrase "Wicked Good", about 12 years ago when we went to Northern Maine.  Everything in Maine was "wicked good".  So, I was not surprised to hear Gorton's Seafood called "wicked good'.  My husband and a couple of the children LOVE fish.  As a matter of fact after receiving my wicked good package from Gorton's, they actually had fish sandwiches two days in a row, and were hoping for more the next day!  For some reason fall weather and fish just sort of go together.

We really like the Gorton's Fish Sandwich Fillets.  They are the perfect size for buns, easy to prepare and taste GREAT.  My family decided you MUST have them on buns, because they just do not taste the same on bread!  And of course they had to add a slice of American cheese to melt over the fillet.  Of course you can't have fish without french fries.  It is amazing, what you "must" have when you eat fish! LOL!  Cole slaw is another favorite side dish.

We were also able to try the Shrimp Scampi.   We served it over pasta!  The Shrimp Scampi is in a garlic butter sauce. Yummy!  Just smelling it was delicious!  We have already purchased another and my daughter wants to try it over rice this time.

Gorton's website has loads of Wicked Good recipes to try, so be sure you stop by and take a look around.  If you find a recipe you want to try, be sure to download their coupon before going shopping.  Just look at their Tenders Tacos!

One neighbor is going to receive a Wicked Good Gorton's Prize Package.  It will include:
3- $2 off product coupons
1-Gorton's branded ship wheel key chain
An assortment of Gorton's recipe cards
Beautiful Gorton's seaside postcards

Then stop by their Social Media.

Chicken of The Sea To Go Cups!

Hey Neighbors!

My family members all eat tuna fish.  Each os us has our own ideas of what goes with our tuna fish though.  I personally add mayonnaise, pickle and onion.  Yum!  My husband likes his with or without pickle on a grilled sandwich with melted cheese.  My youngest two daughters like theirs with mayonnaise and pickle, definitely no onion.  They will even pick it out of theirs when they use my leftovers.  So of course we were excited when we received the opportunity to try the Chicken of the Sea To Go Cups.  They came in a really nice Chicken of the Sea Sling Bag.

We were sent the Chicken of the Sea To Go Cups Tuna Salad, Albacore Tuna, Pink Salmon and Chunk Light Tuna.  These are the perfect snack size, or to put in your child's lunch.  They are single serving and ready to eat.  They have already been drained.  Now, my daughter added her mayonnaise and pickle to her Chunk Light Tuna.

My mother used to add vinegar to her drained tuna and then eat it with crackers.  How do you like your tuna? Does your family have a favorite recipe for tuna?  I am diabetic and I have tuna quite a bit for lunch.  I seriously count carbs so I do not have to be on medication and these come pre-measured with the carbs listed right on them.  Of the To Go Cups I received there are 0 carbs in each one, except of course the Tuna Salad and that has only 7.  I can grab one of these for my lunch or as a snack and know I am staying within my limits.

We will be going on a photography field trip soon and these will be just the right size to bring along with us for a snack!  We can bring some bread or perhaps just crackers.  Then we can toss in a couple of waters and we will be ready to go!

From Chicken of the Sea:

Chicken of the Sea’s popular To Go Cups now have a new look! Available in Chunk Light TunaAlbacore TunaTuna Salad and Pink Salmon, these To Go Cups are ready to eat, no draining required with only 70-80 calories each, these cups are perfect for a quick lunch or snack at school, in the office or on the road.
Available in easy-to-open, 2.8-ounce cups, Chicken of the Sea’s tuna and salmon are wild-caught and a natural source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and protein, and are low in fat and calories. The cups come in packages of two.
“According to the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, consumers should eat at least eight ounces of seafood each week,” said registered dietician Sharon McNerney. “Chicken of the Sea’s To Go Cups makes it even more convenient for people to eat the recommended amount of seafood.”
Whether eaten alone, on top of crackers or added to a salad for an extra dose of delicious protein, Chicken of the Sea’s cups make it easy and convenient to eat healthy at home or on the go.

How would you use Chicken of the Sea To go Cups?  Snacks?  Lunch? Trips?  One of my neighbors will receive a Package just like mine.  Enter the giveaway and maybe it will be you.  See you soon, At the Fence!

Keepers of the Faith Golden Text Series

Hey Neighbors!

I am sure many of you will remember how much I like books by Isabella Alden, who wrote under the pen name Pansy.  You can find her books re-printed, at the Keepers of the Faith website.  Here is some information on Isabella Alden from their site:

This is one of my old books.

This is a picture from my old book.

Isabella Macdonald Alden lived from 1841 to 1930. Her pen name was Pansy. She wrote or edited more than two hundred published works. Isabella Alden was known for developing characters who possessed an unwavering commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Her motivation for writing was to give a clear understanding of salvation and what it means to be a committed Christian. So often in her books, she presents the characteristics of a professing Christian in contrast to a possessing Christian. Each book has a particular biblical point she is trying to share with her readers.

Pansy wrote books for a variety of ages.  We have used many of her books for our family reading time.  Each of her books will encourage your child to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.  Most of the Golden Text Series are books designed for the younger children, up to age 12 or 13.  Although, I must say even the older children have enjoyed these books.  Hedge Fence is one of our favorites as each chapter deals with Frank Hudson.  His mother owns a boarding house and a guest there overs to send him a "hedge fence" each month.  The fence comes in the form of Bible verses to help keep him out of trouble.  It is interesting to see how each verse fits into his life and the choices he makes after reading them.  Each chapter of the book starts out with a Bible verse.

The above is a reprint from Keepers of the Faith.

Included in the Golden Text Series from Keepers of the Faith:
A Dozen of Them
The Exact Truth
A Hedge Fence
Her Mother's Bible
Side by Side
Six O' Clock in the Evening
We Twelve Girls

The above is from Keepers of the Faith.

I highly recommend these books.  All of my children have been raised reading them and each one has their own favorites.  I shared some of my older Pansy books in pictures a short time ago, and of course my children have also collected several of them.  The easiest way to get them though, is to visit the Keeper's of the Faith website and order them there.  Be sure to register for their newsletter as they often run specials or have contests your children can enter.

Isn't the cover of this one nice?
These books are perfect for those fall evenings, or for that matter any evening, sitting around the dining room table or living room and reading together as a family.  Do you read with your child at bedtime? Consider these books.  Or if your children are like mine they will wander off to a favorite corner and read them by themselves.  We actually have a hard time reading a book together before someone in the family has started reading it on their own.  Sometimes I hide the book so no one can read it before we read together!

They also have Keepers Clubs which are clubs that can be done as an activity at churches, homeschool groups or in your own homeschool.  We purchased the books for our sons and daughters and they have worked through different sections.  You can learn more about these clubs HERE.

One neighbor will receive two books from their Golden Text Series from Keepers of the Faith.  Be sure to enter right away and then go share this with others.

See you At the Fence soon!

Children's Claritin and Fall Allergies

Hi neighbors!

What better way to start off a Fall Festival than by discussing fall allergies.  I don't know about your families, but I have 2-3 each fall that start sneezing, having itchy watery eyes, and scratchy throats.  My oldest son has been starting every morning with a cup of hot tea just to get the scratchy sound out of his voice.

Claritin is a big help during the allergy season.  I keep it on hand so when they start showing any symptoms, or if we are aware it is going to be a particularly bad day, we know that Claritin is there.  As a member of the Children's Claritin Mom Crew I recently received some tips to help you and your family as you head into the fall season and of course back to school.  Who needs allergies during school!  Check out these tips below:

From Children's Claritin:

1. Be sure to have Children’s Claritin, the #1 pediatrician-recommended non-drowsy allergy brand, on hand!
2. Multi-vitamins are building blocks to having a strong immune system. Make taking a multi-vitamin part of your child’s daily routine.
3. Let there be light! Mold doesn't like sunlight, so try to keep your curtains open during the day. Should be easy during the summer months!
4. Did you know that most pillows trap allergens, dust mites, and bacteria? Monitor the cleanliness of the pillow your child with allergies sleeps on and replace if necessary.
5. Back to school season means lots of laundry for many moms. Be sure to remove laundry from the washing machine promptly. Allowing wet clothes to sit in the washer means mold can quickly grow there.
6. Monitor pollen counts and adjust outdoor before and after school activities accordingly. Dry, windy days can be particularly high in pollen.
7. Showering or bathing at the end of the day as opposed to the morning can be helpful in removing allergens from body surfaces and hair.
8. Stay hydrated! Always send your child to school with a bottle of water. Drinking lots of clear fluids through the day can help get rid of toxins and flush out body.
9. Peak pollen production typically occurs in early morning, so try to plan outside activities at other times of the day.

Along with this great information I also received some really nice little packages to share with some of my neighbors here At The Fence.  The little packets include a Children's Claritin magnetic clip, a Children's Claritin pen, a Children's Claritin scratch pad, a Children's Claritin shopping list, and a reminder to vote:

Children's Claritin and KaBOOM! are helping bring play to kids in need by offering 12 national schools the chance to win Imagination Playground™ equipment. These mobile play sets are comprised of oversized foam blocks that can be assembled inside or outside, giving children of all abilities the opportunity to foster creativity and critical-thinking skills.
Your vote can make a difference! Join Children's Claritin, the #1 pediatrician-recommended non-drowsy allergy brand, and KaBOOM! to help select 4 schools to receive Imagination Playground™ equipment. You can visit http://Facebook.com/Claritin between 8/1-10/31 to cast your vote for one of twelve finalist schools. The four schools with the most votes will win Imagination Playground™ equipment for their students.

Two neighbors will each receive one of these Claritin packages.

Disclosure:"As a member of the Children’s Claritin Mom Crew, I receive product samples and promotional items to share and use as I see fit. No monetary compensation has taken place and any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience."

My Lanyard Maker

Hi Neighbors!

My girls recently tried out the My Lanyard Maker!  this is from the Choose Friendship Company.  We have reviewed a couple of their other products previously.  The My Lanyard Maker can be used to create, obviously lanyards, but you can also make bracelets, zipper pulls (for a backpack or suitcase), keychains, and you might be able to come up with some creations of your own.

the MY Lanyard Maker comes with a kit that has drawers to store all your supplies.  Your plastic laces can all be stored in one end, while you use the other end to hold your keychain rings, hooks and beads.  Everything stores nicely so you can take your lanyard maker with you, when you travel, visit at a friends house, or even while you are waiting at a Dr.'s office.  The kit comes with instructions that show you a couple of different ways to braid, wrap or construct your lanyard.  You can visit the website HERE to download other instructions for different patterns.

With the My Lanyard Maker your child can create items for themselves, or make gifts for family and friends. My daughters both love to get creative when giving gifts to others.

As we are heading in to cooler fall weather, you may be looking for some inside crafts and activities for your children, be sure to visit the Choose Friendship website and see what they have to offer.

Have a great day neighbors!  See you soon, At the Fence!

Betty Crocker and Hershey's

Hi neighbors!

Here is one you are all going to love!  I received a Betty Crocker Hershey's Package from My Blog Spark!  Oh, was everyone excited when this arrived for review!  Here is what was in the package:
* 3 Betty Crocker Hershey’s® products to sample
* $10 gift card
* Decorating kit
* Cupcake plunger
* Retail Value: $55

We had the Hershey's Cookies and Creme Cookie Mix, Reese's Cupcake Mix, and the Hershey's Milk Chocolate Frosting.

My 12 year old baked the cookies.  She wanted to do them by herself.  They came out great and of course they didn't last long either.

My children and I really like the cupcake plunger and decorating kit.  It makes removing the centers of the cupcakes so easy.  Then you can fill them.  Ours didn't last long!  We already purchased another box of the Reese's Cupcake Mix.

Look at our cupcakes.  We purchased miniature Reese's and and put them inside some of the cupcakes and on top of the cupcakes.  Some have just chocolate frosting, some have peanut butter filling inside and drizzled over the top.  I am talking chocolate and peanut butter overload!

We used the stand, which is shaped like a cupcake to decorate some of the cupcakes.  They really had quite a bit of fun baking and decorating.  Now to top it off, tonight we are having a Mystery Party, followed by...you guessed it...CUPCAKES!  Our second batch!  The new Betty Crocker Hershey's mixes and frostings are going to be a favorite with our family.

Betty Crocker has come out with 12 new Betty Crocker Hershey's cookie and cupcake mixes, as well as frostings.  Mix and match to create some great tasting desserts!

Whether baking up a batch of cookies for your kids on a rainy day or celebrating a special event these desserts will have everyone asking for more. Mix and match flavors to make your own creations such as Cookies and Creme Cheesecake Bars or Chocolate Chunk Almond Brownies. The new line of Betty Crocker mixes and frostings truly offers a sweet for every style!

One neighbor will receive a Betty Crocker Hershey's Prize Pack, just like mine.  So enter now and then go share the news with your family and friends.  Tweet, post and share!
