Baby First TV 'I Can Sign" First Words

Hey Neighbors!

Here is a really neat gift idea for someone with a young child.  Here we have I Can Sign (First Words) from Baby First TV.  Now, I am just going to share right here that we have friends who have taught two of their children to sign at a very young age.  And it works!  Their children could sign before they could talk.

The Dvd will teach your child many useful words that will be used in day to day life.  Words like: eat, water, milk, cookie, ear, feet hands, kiss, sleep, book, mother, father, and many other words.  Each word is taught in a short video clip where they will see pictures of the word/item and people signing.  There is also a little character at the bottom corner of the video signing along.  The Dvd can be done on English or Spanish.  Also included on the Dvd are printable coloring pages that you can print off by inserting the Dvd into your computer.  Inside the cover of the Dvd case is a little booklet that covers some of the words you and your child will be learning.
This is one of the pages in the booklet.

This is the main menu.

Having seen a set of parents who taught their children sign language early, I really believe this program I Can Sign will work.  Not only will it open up some communication, but your child will be learning and growing from this experience.

See the little character in the corner signing cookie.

She is signing cookie.

Baby First is the nations only 24/7 channel dedicated to babies and their parents.  The programming is specifically geared for infants and toddlers.  There is an amazing variety of information and activities available on their site.  Be sure to visit and look around!

Now, several of my children have learned basic signs, and most of them can do the alphabet.  We also learned signs like; yes, no bathroom, drink, water, etc. so we could speak to each other if necessary during church or any other time they needed to be silent.  It was wonderful.  Instead of having to pass it down the row that someone needed the restroom, they could just sign to me and I could answer yes or no.

One neighbor will receive a their own Baby First TV "I Can Sign" (First Words) DVD.
